We enjoyed our stay at the property. The quietness helped us reconnect with old friends. This house is well taken care of and accommodates all six guests. Its location sets it apart from other VRBOs and makes the decor attractive.
we have stayed here the last 4 years. House is always clean. Pete is always easy to deal with. House works out great for our family. I would recommend to anyone looking for a VRBO in the area to rent this one.Jody W
We have stayed at this VRBO 3 years in a row now an haver never been disappointed in the cleanliness, location and ease of working with Pete. Great place to stay. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking to visit the area.

The perfect farmhouse setting. We had the whole Iowa family from Cedar Rapids come down to visit us at this vrbo. It reminded them of the farm property they all grew up on about 50 miles away in Independence.
With all the trees, grass paths and deer each morning, it was a joy to sit on the front yard porch swing sipping coffee!
Came for sons graduation. Setting is beautiful and only fifteen minutes from downtown Iowa City. House had a number of interesting antiques and was comfortable. Loved the screen porch
Wonderful house and property. Perfect for our Scrapbooking Adventure! Plenty of room for spreading our materials in the dining room. Big Bonus was the trail through the uplands with views of the woods. We saw deer, raccoons, rabbits, and songbirds during the day; fireflies and frogs calling at night. Excellent and helpful host.
This is a wonderful property! Clean and spacious, we enjoyed staying on the main level and having our adult children in the basement. It nice being out of town and being able to go for long nature walks right in property and seeing woods out of all the windows, but not having an outrageously long drive to campus and Coral Ridge Mall. Highly recommend!’n
This is the first time we’ve ever stayed at a property a second time! We love this house and its perfect location. We have small kids so we enjoyed being able to enjoy nature, spend time at home, and find stuff in the city. The sunroom is the perfect space for the evenings and mornings. We stayed up late playing board games and chatting after kids went to bed. There’s also a lot of outdoor space and we enjoyed watching the deer drink from the pond and lots of varieties of birds. The host was responsive to our needs and everything felt clean and orderly.
Perfect location for our daughters wedding at Wilson’s Orchard. Less than 5 minutes away. Easy access for my elderly parents, they loved that they had their own walk in shower and bathroom on main floor. My husband and I were downstairs with our two sons, perfect. So many windows! Saw deer in backyard. Will recommend.
We really enjoyed our relaxing stay at this clean, comfortable and quiet country acreage. The rural setting off Highway 1 was easy to get to and a short and easy drive to Cedar Rapids and Iowa City/Coralville, along with the quaint downtowns of Solon and Mount Vernon.
We appreciated the roomy bedrooms and especially liked the large living rooms on the upper and lower levels. The stereo in the upper living room was excellent and the floor to ceiling bookshelves on the lower level offered many interesting reads. Our 2 year old granddaughter also enjoyed playing with the games and the dolls. The kitchen was nicely equipped and I enjoyed my early morning coffees in the rocking chair.
The owner was very friendly and the care given to the home was evident throughout. We look forward to our next stay when visiting the area!
We have rented this property 2 years in a row now, property is great, we have everything we need here and its always clean. Pete is great to work with!! I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to spend time in the area.

The house was in a quiet location not too far from the University of Iowa campus and grocery stores. Great seating around 2 tables (kitchen & dining), well-equipped kitchen, a big living room, and comfortable beds. We didn’t use the downstairs living room, but the eclectic book collection is amazing! We enjoyed our time here and we are looking forward to staying again in the future.
We have no complaints, everything was prefect. 2 couples that wanted to just relax. Enjoyed the antiques thru the house, sitting in sunroom with our coffee and awesome beauty of nature.
Great quiet property with beautiful serene surroundings
We have stayed for a few nights here and really enjoyed the beauty and nature surrounding the home. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet country stay very close to the city.
