"I stayed 2 nights here and was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Back in North America, Best Western feels to be of a lower quality/standard, so it was a nice surprise. The location is about 25m by bus away from Jeonju KTX station but only a 15m walk to the hanok village area. There's also a convenience store right across the street that many guests frequented. "Visited with parents during Christmas break. An absolute gem — we loved every small detail in the rooms and play areas, since it was really well decorated with Korean traditional hints everywhere. Also loved the breakfast options they provided us, the food was so good!!! I really want to visit again. Thank you staff for providing such a welcoming experience."

"A great experience for my first hanok stay. I knew not to expect a typical hotel experience and came with an open mind for a traditional hanok experience. The hanok grounds were beautiful and the hanok is located very close to Hanok Village and the main streets where there is plenty to see and eat. "When we first visited The May hotel, we had a little or no expectation but we were surprised at the quality of the facility and the services we have received. I can truly say that this place earned its 4 star rating and we're very glad that we had a chance to experience it. Thumbs up and i definitely recommend The May Hotel for your next stay!"

"The host was very responsive and was able to communicate with us using translation tools pretty easily. The location is great and the Hanok captures the feel of the village around it. Keep in mind because this is a historic building, that while there are certain modern amenities like a hair dryer, there is not a full size shower or full size towels, just hand size towels. "Fantastic hosts, great location. We had 3 rooms booked, all very clean and well maintained. The location is central with all you need within close proximity. The in person experience is much better than the photos that are available online. The host couple is friendly and accommodating. "

"It was extremely dirty everywhere except for the room which was ok. Barely adequate. The bar/kitchen area looked completely abandoned as though some disaster had hit the place and everyone had run away. The basement area, where we eventually found out we had to make breakfast with mouldy bread was disgusting. There was a large dead cockroach in the sink and the walls were crumbling. We’re not fussy people but this was really bad and we left after one night. The only communication we had was through Instagram with the manager. Not a common thing for people in their 60’s. The photos are from many years ago and the promises in the text are just not available. In summary, one to avoid.."
