Astonishing view from the room.
Astonishing view from the room. Very nice and spacious room. The bed was excellent. Breakfast was good with a lot of high quality products. Only downside was the coffee- it was made with UHT milk - and Italian would never do that, they would use fresh milk.

The hotel is beautifully situated close to the heart of Sønderborg, offering stunning views of the harbor and easy access to local attractions. The rooms are spacious and modern. As we traveled with our small dog, we incurred additional cleaning fees of 300 DKK per night, which is approximately 40 euros. We have stayed in many European hotels and have always paid between 8-15 euros max; therefore, the price is simply exorbitant. It was all the more annoying that, whenever we left the room with our dog, we informed the reception that the room service could come to clean. Unfortunately, this never worked directly, so our room was only cleaned during day trips every second day. In addition, it was inconvenient to always have to leave the wet food for the dog at the reception because of a missing minibar at the room; the staff helpful. Our room had a breathtaking view of the sea, which was a nice sight to wake up to each morning. Steigenberger has an array of nice amenities. Great is the Spa area; still, for the overall price we paid for two weeks it was a pity that the access to the pool was not included. Additionally, we were somewhat bothered that, on top of the 'normal' spa area costs, there are additional charges for the Nordic Spa area. For a hotel in this price range, a spa area should naturally be included in the overnight price. The dining experience at Steigenberger Alsik is very good and we would like to highlight the extraordinary breakfast buffet.

Jeg synes, prisen er (for) høj i forhold til andre lignende udbydere ! Restaurant Alsik leverede god mad, men selve restauranten er for meget morgenmadsrestaurant til det prisniveau ! Og vi havde den tidlige spa-tid 7-10 søndag morgen (spa afdeling fin, men ikke ekstraordinær) og søndag morgen ville det være lækkert med en kop kaffe, men kaffeloungen åbnede først kl. 9 ?? Alt i alt lidt skuffet !

Mangler lidt af sin luksus
Det var tredje gang vi besøgte Alsik på 3 år. Denne gang var det tydeligt at der var flere steder hotel er slidt, hvilket er synd for helheds indtrykket. Fx var dørkarmen til vores toilet smadret på begge side. Må også indrømme at jeg finder det mærkeligt at man siger man er et “luksus” 4 stjernet hotel og så har man servicetekniker og håndværker til at gå frem og tilbage under morgenmaden og kigge på spots. Man kunne vel vente de 20 minutter til morgenmaden lukkede. Servicepersonalet stod også i receptionen og talte med personalet i stedet for at gå ind på det kontor der var. Det virkede uprofessionelt.

Dyr billig vin og manglende morgenmad
Værelse og hotel fint som forventet. Vi spiste i restauranten og bestilte en hvidvin til 500kr. Googlede at vinen i butikker kan købes til 89kr. Maden var også dyr og levede ikke helt op til prisen. En halv time inden morgenmaden lukkede var der ikke mere wienerbrød/pastries/kager etc
