"The self check in was very easy. Everything was very clean and neat. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was the best we had during our stay in Iceland. Everything was hot and delicious. "We enjoyed Skogar hostel! We arrived late after a hike and left early before a long commute to another glacier hike. The staff member checking us in was very friendly, the beds were more comfortable than we anticipated, and the kitchen was well equipped. There was an issue with one of the showers not properly functioning (no hot water and the faucet was wonky), but the other two of us showered fine. It is noteworthy that guests must strip their own linen in the morning and put them into laundry...

"From what I can tell, this is the best place to stay near Vik. Beautiful view, well-appointed, quiet. We had everything we needed and were super comfortable in our family room. The breakfast scene in the barn was disappointing (bad coffee and pastries), but if you get food from the market in Vik you have everything you need in the room to prepare your own meals. Highly recommend and I will def book there again when we go to gorgeous Iceland again!"

"We made last-minute reservations and loved this charming property. We had excellent communication with our hosts prior to checking in and excellent service once we arrived. Even got a piece of fresh apple cake! We stayed in the Haytower and it was absolutely wonderful, even down to having the northern lights on display.
