Dales Edge Skipton

A traditional Yorkshire mill workers house built around 1900.
The property has undergone extensive refurbishment recently and has been finished and furnished to a high standard

The property boasts a large lounge / dining room with a traditional gas stove fitted under an light oak mantle piece. The room also boasts a ceiling fan for those warmer days and is furnished with light oak furniture and floor.

There is a downstairs cloakroom complete with walk in shower and hand basin.

The kitchen is light and spacious with granite work surfaces and modern cream cupboards. The Kitchen opens out onto a very sunny courtyard garden equipped with chairs and table.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms both furnished in light oak and again fitted with ceiling fans for those warmer evenings.

The bathroom has a beautiful Duchess bath so you can enjoy a nice relaxing soak with a glass of wine and a book after a hard days exploration of Skipton or the picturesque Yorkshire Dales National Park.

The property incorporates Hive heating, Smart burglar alarm / door lock system, fully integrated fire and CO alarm system, Fire doors on both bedrooms and the kitchen and emergency lighting at the top and bottom of the stairs.

The property is easy to find and is approximately 10 minutes walk from Skipton Town centre and 3 minutes from the Leeds & Liverpool Canal access points.

The entire house will be available to you

I live and work in Skipton so will be available should you have any problems during your stay.

Skipton is an historic Market Town and is known as the "Gateway to the Dales".

The town boasts a range of traditional shops, restaurants and bars and the Leeds to Liverpool canal with its lovely towpath, wharf and the famous Skipton Castle.

Skipton is an ideal location to base yourself to explore the Dales with most attractions being 30 to 45 minutes drive from Skipton.

There is a half hourly bus service within a minutes walk of the property and the bus station with links to Leeds and Manchester and the surrounding villages is approximately 10 minutes walk away. The mainline train station is also approximately 12 minutes walk away with its connections to Leeds (London), Settle, and Lancaster.

Great base a short walk from the town centre
A lovely property that has been recently renovated to provide a modern, but cosy base for exploring Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales. The fire and excellent heating system ensured the property was warm and welcoming even with very cold days. Only single drawback is the busy road on the doorstep, but we were aware of this before arriving and the noise was not as bad as some had commented.

The property was as advertised. It probably suited parents with kids rather than 4 adults as the second bedroom was small. The bathroom was a little odd. Despite it size most of it was taken up with a fibreglass slipper bath and the shower was downstairs in the dining room. Kitchen was good but details all wrong, no bread knife and the other knives wouldn't cut butter. No coat rack on the ground floor, no welcome pack. However, the general layout was fine, very good value and despite the over engineering of the front door we had a good time. Skipton has much to offer and Dales Edge is very close to the city centre.

Good position in walking distance of Skipton.
Well presented house in a great location as it is only a short walk along the canal to the centre of Skipton. Small park nearby, great for early walk with the dog Good provision of items needed for a short stay. The road noise can be intrusive at night but we brought earplugs!

Easy to find. Plenty of parking on side street or opposite the property. Good sized rooms. Well equipped kitchen. Plenty of hot water and a nice bath. Easy walking distance along the canal to the town centre. Overall, a very enjoyable mini break.

Nice house
So lots of the reviews complain about the road-yes it is a busy road but not as bad as the other reviews make it sound. It was quiet ant night and really just cars in the day. Also the house is double glazed and has a hedge at the front so it’s not a big deal. A couple of things, no cloths/washing up sponges/tea towels which surprised me. Also no where to hang coats or put muddy boots which could have been an issue if we had had bad weather On the whole really nice house in a good location for a Dales holiday

Great place for a mini break
This was a real gem of a place, spotlessly clean and well furnished, a real home from home. Lovely little touches throughout. Good communication with the host who was very helpful, quick to respond and provide information. The only negative for us was that whilst it is very conveniently located for Skipton, it is on a busy road - so despite the very comfortable beds the noise of passing traffic didnt allow for an early night! Also, having stayed in several similar properties of the same standard, it was disappointing that no welcome pack was provided. Otherwise, you cannot fault this lovely place. We enjoyed the little garden in the sunshine with a nice cuppa.

Lovely cottage, great location
Excellent location for touring around the Dales and surrounding areas. Cottage is finished to a really high standard. Unfortunately, we did have an issue with the hot water. We contacted Nick the host who answered within 5 minutes and came to try and help within 15 minutes. As it was clearly a plumbing issue he offered us a full refund on the spot or the option of staying and having a 50% discount - which is what we settled on. These things happen, was through no fault of Nick’s and he really couldn’t have been more helpful. We made sure it didn’t detract from our stay in a beautiful area.

Shirt but sweet
The cottage is modern and clean and has everything you need on the whole bath and showers are good. Note it’s on a main busy road which was busy all day. A welcome pack would have been nice to start you off but that’s a minor thing

Wonderful house. Been modernised clean lovely attention to detail. Beds were very comfy as was sofa! Could of moved in and not left! Walkable to town, always found a parking space. Nothing negative at all re house. It is positioned on a busy main road traffic noise early morning with window open. But I’m not used to it… partner slept thorough. Would go back. Thank you.
