"The house was exceptionally beautiful and in traditional keeping with the Mani architecture. Extremely quiet and remote with fabulous views. Great exploring and the most important for us was the wild flowers - exceptional in April. The house is very cosy and well equipped and even broadband is available despite it's remoteness. Jokke and Tonno were great hosts with easy and helpful communication. Gythio, the local town is about 30mins away (supermarkets, tavernas, petrol station etc). No local...

Then, when we arrived at the admittedly charming location, things unravelled further. the very first thing that hit us was a fusty smell of neglect as we opened the door. "A small gem set in unspoilt countryside with breathtaking sea views. We had a lovely time in the house of Dilly, who is an absolutely charming host. It's just five minutes from the beach and the friendly little port of Agios Nikolaos. Lots of great walks in the area and excellent restaurants. Lovely experience, we'll be back with great pleasure. The place is fully equipped, the kitchen has everything that you can possibly need -even board games and yoga mats can be found- the owner was very nice and friendly. "We had a very disappointing stay in this apartment in July. Both the apartment and the owner fell far below our expectations, especially given how expensive the place was. For details, read on. We had been assured by the owner that wonderful cross ventilation made air conditioning unnecessary, but this was definitely not the case in the summer heat. With just one lone air conditioner in a three bedroom house, the place was so unbearable that we had to move our kids to the LAS hotel across town...
