Boka Blou Caribbean Beach Villa.

Boka Blou Villa is a villa with three bedrooms and two bathrooms and a separate toilet. We have completely updated our house in December 2017, the new kitchen is fully equipped. The villa is situated on a quiet, somewhat higher spot, nice on the wind so you have less problems with mosquitoes. o.v. Villas that are somewhat lower. From the large porch of about 60 m2 you can overlook the lake on the golf course.
From the villa you walk through the beautiful tropical garden, along the pool, in about 6 minutes to the beautiful white sandy beach. Once there, you will see the turquoise, clear water of blue bay between the palm trees.
After you have settled, all facilities are within reach. The beach has clean toilets, showers, a bar, restaurants, massage parlor, diving school and in the high season there is a kids club.
During your stay the villa is regularly cleaned and provided with clean linen and beach towels.

Highly recommend Boka Blou Caribbean Beach Villa 50 and will sure to come back! Our family of 6 adults from the US really enjoyed our stay. Our host and property manager were great to communicate with most especially after the AC in one of the rooms conked out. Love the outdoor veranda which we enjoyed daily! It had secured entry, is centrally located to beaches, amenities, grocery store, and Willemstad. Its private Blue Bay Beach is absolutely beautiful! Appreciated the washer, towels, and other household/cooking items available on site. Note to bring lots of mosquito spray, sunblock, and hiking shoes (if you want to be adventurous and climb Mt. Cristoffel and hike Shete Boka National Park's rugged terrain), and most especially for our US comrades--bring poop bags since you can't flush toilet paper in the villa and in all the toilets around the island!! ; )

Family vacation over Christmas break
My family of 4 rented Boka Blou (villa 50) over Christmas break. We were greeted by Wil who was very helpful and informative. We were overall Pleased by our stay. We did have a few minor issues ....our big problem upon arrival was it was later at night (around 7) and it was very hot in the villa as the AC is only in the bedrooms and was not on (there is no central AC in the living area), I think if someone came and turned it on before arrival it would make for a more positive experience as we were arriving from the eastern US where it was quite cold. Also, We were unable to use the patio at night as this time of year the mosquitos are awful. Therefore upon arrival, we could not even air the villa out since dusk is the worst time of day for mosquitoes. As mentioned Wil was very helpful and made coming and going from the villa quite easy. Gerard was in constant contact and was also very helpful. The villa had everything we needed, but I would definitely recommend larger beach towels as the beach towels were more like bath towels. The villa had Apple TV so we were able to watch Netflix and although we had a problem with the internet one day we were able to login to another villas internet so it was not much of a Problem. All in all we had a very pleasant stay at Boka Blou and the villa met expectations and Wil and Gerard were very helpful. As for information for Curacao in general( other than the villa) I will say as an American on the whole while Curacao is a great place to visit, be prepared as the service is a much slower pace than Americans are used to. (Dinners can take from 2-4hrs). Lunch/breakfast at the beach club was very quick however!

We were 6 adults staying at BokaBlou Villa50, which set in a picturesque location just off the Resortā€™s main road. Parking very close by & construction was underway during our stay to expand the carparks capacity. The large wraparound veranda is a lovely feature of these villas. The outdoor furniture is adequate. It was gĆŖner breezy, which helped to keep in check the insects. We had brought repellent as there were tiny midgies at dawn/dusk. The small citronella candles that we found in the drawer were ineffective bc of the breeze. The beds were firm, the 3rd smaller BR is equipped with 2 narrow singles & adequate for children only. The lighting in the main living quarters/kitchen area is dim, which I imagine is for energy efficiency reasons. The AC & fans all worked very well. The shower head in the shared bathroom sprayed outside the shower & we could not adjust the shower head ...so mop ups were necessary. Kitchen is stocked with pots pan, plates, glassware & cutlery; 2-3 of the cutting knives are blunt & should be replaced. Dishwasher was leaky so Desiree advised not to use until technicien came. Week 1 we were supplied with thick, matching bath & beach towels. Our 2nd weekā€™s bath towel replacements were subpar (smaller & thinner). Perhaps I should have contacted Desiree, the property mgr, but basically we just wanted to get on with enjoying the one week we had left. Owners Gerard & Marieke were prompt/accommodating & helpful in responding to my emails. However, we did have a misunderstanding when it came to electricity consumption. Gerard had assured me ā€œnot to worryā€- that under ā€œnormal ā€œ usage no extra costs would be incurred: that is to say - use AirCon only when sleeping with doors closed. This is what we did. But I guess everything is relative - some sleep less than others & what is ā€œnormalā€ for some, is not ā€œnormal ā€œ for others. After long days on the beach, most of us went to bed @8pm & got up at 7am. Unfortunately this did trigger extra costs. Overall our experience was good.

Villa was as expected but better!
Covered patio was great for morning coffee and dinners in. Vacation for two couples and the space worked perfectly. I forgot to pay tourist tax before I arrived but host agreed to take it from my security - very accommodating. Desiree met us at the gate and was extremely helpful with all of our questions and needs. I canā€™t say enough about how great Desiree was. If Iā€™m lucky enough to visit this beautiful island again I wouldnā€™t hesitate to stay at Boka Blue again.

Beautiful villa with a large veranda within an amazing resort
Our family enjoyed a wonderful week at Boka Blou Villa. Gerard was super easy to work with! The kitchen was well equipped and the property manager stocked the fridge with a welcoming bottle of wine and cold beers. Two of the bedrooms were identical in size and the smaller twin bedroom was perfect for our son. Each bedroom had a ceiling fan and wall air conditioning unit. The main living area also had a ceiling fan which kept that area quite comfortable. We spent the majority of our villa time on the large wrap-around veranda. It was a perfect spot for meals, lounging on the couches or napping on the chaise lounges. We did bring some insect repellent to help ward off the mosquitoes - this did the trick and no one was overly bothered. At the time of year we were visiting, we were able to watch the sunset right from the veranda! This unit is on the upper level and provided a nice breeze and views over to the golf course and lake with its pink flamingos. The villa is located within the gated resort community of Blue Bay Curacao Golf and Beach Resort. Its about a 5-10 minute walk down to the beach (you can also drive down if you are feeling lazy and use the parking lot). The beach is absolutely gorgeous, well equipped with sun loungers, shade canopies, 2 restaurants, a bar, dive shop and kids club. Snorkeling is fantastic and easy with the reef just off the beach. We brought our own gear but you can also rent or purchase from the dive shop. We ate dinner at Sunset Bar & Grill on "burger night" - make a reservation for a delicious tuna, shrimp, salmon or black angus patty grilled on a Green Egg Grill by the sea. It doesn't get any better than this! We found the breakfast to be quite expensive at Azzuro (which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily) and only ate there on our first morning. We ordered thin crust pizzas one night from Pictures Restaurant which is right off the beach parking lot and ate under the stars on the beach! For groceries, there is a supermarket about 5 minutes drive from the resort. The location was perfect for our trip. We explored the breathtaking West Coast beaches (30-45 minutes drive): Playa Kalki (gorgeous), Playa Piskado (sea turtles), Westpunt Baai (cliff jumping) and Groot Knip (clear blue water). We easily drove 15 minutes to historic Willemstad and Pietermaai for fine dining several nights. We spent a fun day at Mambo Beach/Sea Aquarium, about 20 minutes drive. Highly recommend staying at this villa!

A nice stay just a few items to note
The condo is in the nice resort of Blue Bay that offers great security so you always feel safe at the resort. The condo is nice and Mary did a great job of checking us in she communicated with us over WhatsApp which I had never used before but it worked out really well. We stayed during the wet season and this meant several mosquitos, there are no screens on the doors so we received several bites. Since the air conditioning is only in the bedrooms we were trying to find a way to cool down the main living space and limit out exposure, we could have worn bug repellant but we didn't want to stain the furniture. One other item that was different than other rentals I've stayed at: I received a form two weeks before we arrived asking me to wire the 7% Stay Tax that was noted at the very bottom of the listing and a request for our bank information to wire our deposit back. Since we were not comfortable with giving out our bank information Gerard agreed to take the 7% out of our deposit and return it through VRBO. He did this right after our stay so we had no issue with our final plan.

Sehr schƶne Unterkunft, kurzer Weg zum Meer
Objekt in einer bewachten Anlage gelegen. Das Haus ist insgesamt schƶn, aufgrund des Wetters hƤlt man sich Ć¼berwiegend drauƟen auf dem groƟen Balkon auf. Schƶne Aussicht zum Golfplatz. Ca. 5 min. Fussweg zum Strand. Dieser ist auch sehr schƶn. Normal kostet dieser Eintritt, fĆ¼r Mieter ist er aber kostenfrei. Einrichtung zweckmƤssig. Leider viele Moskitos. Ansonsten alles sehr gut. Betreuung vor Ort sehr nett und hilfsbereit.

In de afgelopen 2 weken hebben we genoten van de prachtige villa Boka Blou op Blue Bay Resort, CuraƧao. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien, zoals een grote koelkast met ruim vriesvak, een keramische kookplaat, waterkoker, broodrooster etc. De ligging is ideaal, wat hoger zodat de wind heerlijk over het deck waait en de muggen enigszins beperkt! Je hebt uitzicht op de golfbaan waar zich ook watervogels ophouden, zoals flamingo's. Het is riant zitten buiten, zowel in de zithoek als aan de ruime tafel. Goede airconditioning in de slaapkamers plus een fan die het heel aangenaam slapen maakt. Uitstekende badkamers! Het resort wordt goed bewaakt en onderhouden. De beplanting is tropisch en je vindt er dan ook veel soorten vogels en vlinders. Vanaf de villa loop je in enkele minuten naar het gezellige en relaxte strand. Als bewoner van Boka Blou heb je gratis toegang tot het strand en de strandbedjes. Veel schaduw door palapa's en palmbomen. Geen rijen bedjes maar ruimte om je heen, heerlijk! De horeca is goed verzorgd, je kunt er uitgebreid lunchen of dineren maar ook een snackje nuttigen. Bediening aan je strandbedje! Het zwemmen in de CaraĆÆbische zee, daar kwamen we voor en is daar heerlijk vanaf het zandstrand. De massage op het strand is aan te bevelen! Binnen10 minuten rijden sta je in de supermarkt of bij het tankstation. Punda is een minuutje of 20. Maar ook de stranden richting Westpunt zijn vanaf Blue Bay goed en filevrij bereikbaar. De contacten met Gerard en Marieke, de eigenaren, verliepen soepel via mail. Vragen werden snel beantwoord. Wij waren met 5 volwassenen, waaronder mijn moeder van 80 en mijn dochter en schoonzoon van begin 20. Iedereen heeft een heerlijke vakantie gehad in Villa Boka Blou!

Eine Reise die sich lohnt
Unser Urlaub auf Curacao und unser Aufenthalt im Blue Bay Resort war sehr schƶn und erholsam. Unsere Gastgeber Gerard und Marieke haben im Vorfeld unser Reise alles dafĆ¼r getan das uns den Aufenthalt so schƶn wie mƶglich zu gestalten. Auch Desiree die uns vor Ort empfangen hat war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit . Die Wohnung ist zweckmƤƟig eingerichtet . Hier nur ein paar VerbesserungsvorschlƤge im kĆ¼chenbereich sowie auf der wunderschƶnen Terrasse wƤre etwas mehr Licht erforderlich. Was auch absolut super wƤre ein Gasgrill , gerade als Selbstversorger wƤre das sehr schƶn es gibt in den SupermƤrkten viele schƶne Dinge die man auf einem Grill schnell zubereiten kƶnnte. Wir haben uns sehr wohl und sicher gefĆ¼hlt in einer wunderschƶnen Anlage . Jederzeit gerne wieder!!

Fijne plek in een mooi villapark
In juli 2019 verbleven wij in deze villa. Het is een rustige villa die wat achteraan ligt, maar op 2 a 3 minuten lopen van het zwembad en op 5 min lopen van het strand, is het een heerlijke uitvalsbasis. De auto parkeer je bovenaan op het parkeerterrein, heel dichtbij. Wij hadden de auto gehuurd bij bbautoverhuur . net, echt een aanrader. Zeer goede service, ze halen en brengen je van het vliegveld en je auto staat daarna voor je klaar. De villa was schoon, netjes en prima voor ons 4-en. De baai/strand die bij dit villapark hoort, is heerlijk. Je kunt er prachtig snorkelen, het is er niet overvol (niet toen wij er waren in ieder geval) en het is er netjes schoon. Wij hebben het erg naar ons zin gehad en raden dit huis van harte aan. Huur een auto en verken alle strandjes en baaitjes in de buurt, het is er prachtig!

Vielen Dank fĆ¼r die tolle Unterkunft und den super Kontakt. Hier hat von A bis Z alles gepasst. Alle fragen wurden schnell beantwortet und sich der Kontakt vor Ort mit DesirĆ©e war super. Das Haus liegt in einem bewachten Resort und geografisch perfekt fĆ¼r den tƤglichen Spaziergang an den Pool und den (herrlichen) Strand . Vielen Dank fĆ¼r den unglaublichen Urlaub
