Rural Algarve Villa - Ideal for Remote Working in the Winter Sun

Rural Algarve Villa with Heated Pool, Fibre Optic Internet/Wi-Fi, Underfloor Heating plus Air Conditioning near SILVES, GOLF and BEACHES
The villa is set within the unspoilt countryside of the Algarve overlooking orange groves and the Monchique mountains. It is away from the crowded tourist areas but all local attractions like water parks and beaches are just a short drive away. Access to the villa on arrival is by a keysafe so there is no person-to-person contact. Fibre Optic Internet/Wi-Fi and UK/EU TV channels provided. It is now possible to have shopping delivered to the villa by the Apolonia and Continente supermarkets. The villa has air-conditioning for the summer months and underfloor heating for the winter months. The rural area is popular with walkers and close to the Algarve Way. For golfers the villa is also close to the Amendoeira and Silves Golf courses. For motor racing and Formula 1 lovers the Autodromo do Algarve is approximately 30 minutes’ drive from the villa. The Monchique mountains are to the north and the beautiful beaches to the south.
The villa has a magnificent 5m x 9m solar heated swimming pool with automatic pool cover and a large sunbathing terrace. This also has a supplementary heat pump to heat the pool during the cooler months, at an additional cost of £20 a night.
The villa is fully compliant with all safety and legal regulations as required by the Portuguese Tourist Board. Alojamento Local (AL) Registration No. 27422/AL
The living accommodation is spacious and comfortable and has plenty of modern conveniences to make your holiday as relaxing as possible. All rooms have underfloor heating, secure lockable windows/patio doors with mosquito screens and shutters.
We have recently finished a small adjoining extension to the villa that can provide a private, lockable space for grandparents or friends from a different family. It comprises of a living room with large TV and Bedroom 3 with en-suite bathroom. The bedroom and living area have patio doors to the pool terrace. This area is only available when you book the main villa. The main villa containing the master bedroom and twin bedroom is priced on an occupancy of up to 4 people. Additional guests using Bedroom 3 with the en-suite facilities are charged £25 per person per night. The camp/chair beds are only suitable for children and are charged at £10 per child per night. Please enquire if your party has additional children using the camp beds so the website price can be adjusted.
The upstairs of the garage has a play room with a seating area and snooker/pool or table tennis table. There is also a full-size outdoor table tennis table and table football. There is free unlimited Fibre Optic Internet access and television including Portuguese, English and Sport channels. It is easily accessible from Faro airport (40 minutes). For your convenience car hire is highly recommended. Poço Barreto is the closest village (2km), with a railway station, a small supermarket and some bars. Just a short drive from the villa is the historic town of Silves dominated by its XII Century Castle, with its Roman Bridge, traditional food market, and good choice of shops, restaurants and bars. Silves is also famous for the Medieval Festival held for 10 days in August. There are two large supermarkets, open 7 days a week till 10pm.

Where to begin, when we booked this villa we were blown away by the photos and descriptions provided by the owners as well as the reviews of other guests, however nothing can really do justice to staying here in person. The Villa has got to be hands down the best I’ve ever stayed in. The attention to detail by the owners is incredible they really have thought of everything and there is nothing you could want for. Communication at all stages with the owner was excellent both before our arrival giving us loads of information and directions to assist our safe entry. Then the list of restaurants and days out as well as information on local attractions and places to visit was great. On arrival a welcome parcel of some snacks and drinks were gratefully received and after arriving so late meant breakfast was all in hand the following day without having to leave. The villa itself is spectacular we love the fact the location is remote enough to have the peace and quiet with spectacular views all around but then still not far to get to anything. The pool was amazing and a great temperature all day round meant if you wanted there was no reason to ever leave the Villa. I can’t recommend this place highly enough and we will definitely be returning in the future this area of Portugal is fantastic and our stay at Casa Amendoeira Velha was 5 star.

Absolute perfection.
Lovely property in a very quiet rural area. With a car you are able to access everywhere in no time at all. I'd say it's the nicest and most complete rental I have ever stayed at. Excellent communication from booking to leaving, everything worked and it felt like an honour to be there. Would recommend this spacious and very well equipped rental for every occasion. Just spent a week there with my 6 year old son. Fantastic.

Perfect Villa for Families
We had the best week staying in Colette’s beautiful villa. It’s perfectly located in quiet surroundings with great views of the area. The villa was spotlessly clean and so well equipped. Everything you could want for a holiday was there to be used. We paid extra for the pool to be heated which was great. Nothing was too much trouble for Colette. Would highly recommend this villa.

We has a fantastic stay. The Villa was spacious and airy, well stocked with everything you might need and more. Between the pool, football table, hammock and ping pong our kids never wanted to leave the Villa. Great communication from the owners, very responsive and had lots of tips to share too. Superb villa excellent value
First time for myself and my wife to stop in a villa and have both made the decision not to stop on a resort again. Villa was better than we had thought it was everything was available to us so that once we had done a small shop we didn’t really need to leave the property. Owner was a great help to us and nothing was too much trouble for them. Super location car is required however to get about but that was a bonus because we got to see parts of the Algarve that we would not have been able to get to see if stopping at a resort. Can’t wait for next year.

Great location if (like us) you like to get away from it all. Property was even better than described & everything was available for family time at the villa or for a day out. Fabulous pool, home away from home!
We stayed at the villa for 10 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Pool was great and warm which is a first for Portugal! Kids loved it! Villa has everything you need as my husband is a keen cook. Definitely need a car as nothing is in working distance which for us was a plus so the kids can have a fab time in the pool without annoying anyone, also with busy life’s it’s nice to chill. Silves is a pretty city and it was nice to see more of Portugal as we normally stay in Burgau. Only thing i would say is a small negative is the bedrooms could benefit from air conditioning but there are plenty of fans. Collette was helpful throughout the booking, would definitely recommend!

Home from home a beautiful Villa
We have just stayed in this villa for one week and it was lovely, home from home. The kitchen is beautiful and modern with everything you could ever want or need. The bedrooms were spacious with plenty of wardrobe space. The bathrooms modern with a really good shower. We were left a welcome pack on arrival which was a lovely touch which included wine,beer, soft drinks, water, bread,ham,eggs,cheese biscuits and crisps a great start to the next day. There was also coffee, sugar, tea etc in the cupboards. Beach towels & umbrellas were provided which we used every day and that was a great saving on our luggage allowance. The villa has internet which was great and the TV channels on offer were good. Our weather was brilliant so we used the sun beds and the pool most days. We liked the location as only 10 mins to Silves where the restaurants are very good and reasonably priced. One of the nearest beaches was in Carvoeiro and is only around 15 mins drive. We prefer to be out in the countryside as we get to appreciate the spectacular views and watch farming life happen in front of our very eyes. There are lots of places to see and a full guide is provided of places to go in the villa which has taken the owner a lot of time and experience to provide and we felt that was a nice touch. We would recommend this villa to anyone who is looking for a quiet location and not far to lots of great places to visit. You won’t be disappointed I promise. Lovely experience and we thank the owner for providing this for us. We will defiantly return in the future Katherine from Cheshire

Lovely well equipped peaceful villa in rural Algarve.
I have just returned from a 10 holiday ,with my Granddaughters,Victoria,Olivia and Ellie plus Victorias partner.The villa is very well equipped with everything you need for a perfect holiday.As well as the pool area to sit and relax there were lots of tables and chairs in quiet shaded areas of the garden.The villa had a generous welcome pack upon arrival,which was very much appreciated. The pool was perfect for a dip to cool off.My youngest granddaughter enjoyed the pool and football tables.We didn't play table tennis as it was just too hot.The villa is ideally placed to visit Splash and Slide,and the many local beaches.We did venture into Albufiera on 2 evenings in order for the girls to present buy in the many shops.This only made us appreciate the peacefulness of the villa more.A wonderful holiday.Many thanks to Collette and Owen,not forgetting Sue and Mike who greeted us with the key on arrival.

Lovely house in quiet beautiful location.
A lovely holiday home in a quiet rural location not far out of Silves. Well equipped and very clean. Lovely starter food package was thoughtful and handy. Good clear directions to property but with quite a bumpy road to get there. After we arrived we always used the other way in from Silves direction, much better. All the signage in the house about the equipment was clear and concise and we had no bother with anything and no reason to contact the owners or their representatives at the Villa. We were met by Mel on arrival and shown around. Plenty to see and do in the area, with a car, and we travelled all over the algarve area, from Tavira on the Spanish border to the edge of the world in Sagres. We used Luzcar at Faro airport and were impressed with them and the car. So house was centrally located. Very friendly people and we loved the Ingles Cafe and restaurant under the walls of the castle in Silves. On a slightly negative note we felt the garden and pool area could have been better maintained. The grass, come wild oats, was long and a lot of biggish weeds around the Patio area could have been cleared away. I know this is a project in hand but if you had kids with you, no garden space for them. It’s maybe just the profession gardener in me! Plenty of indoor facilities with snooker and table tennis tables in the garage. A good sized tv, which you don’t always get, was clear and easy to operate with English channels, handy for the World Cup. Overall a lovely stay with great weather, lovely area and reasonably priced location. Ps the oranges from the groves taste lovely! Alan

Very comfortable; a home from home
My wife and I stayed for four weeks during February and March 2018. The weather was uncommonly wet throughout but we were always cosy warm and dry. The accommodation is modern and has very high quality appliances. The kitchen has everything required for home cooking and entertaining. The beds are comfortable and afforded us a good night’s sleep each night. The property can be found conveniently close to the beautiful town of Silves and is convenient for (but not too close to) the A22 and N124. The owners, Collette and Owen were very quickly available to answer the odd question we had during our stay. We should be very happy to stay here again.

Winter let in the sunny Algarve
This villa is well appointed, immaculate instructions clearly set out in booklets. Any very minor problems sorted out most quickly by the two house managers, Mike and Mel, and she gave us a cherry welcome and clear, helpful tips. Exceptionally well equipped kitchen, many English tv channels, underfloor heating and timed heated towel rails in both bathrooms. The main bed was very comfortable and a huge soft duvet ensured good nights. Rural villa and we expected a really rough approach road but it was actually quite e decent lane. As this is a central location on the Algarve, we found it convenient for all our favouite places, particularly handy for shopping in Silves. No shortage of outdoor seating and dining facilities in the early year sunshine. We know there are plans to develop the garden and we appeciated phase one of the make over. A private location and really good sound insulation inside. The best winter let we have had, and we would happily revisit. Eleven days of happy memories.

Just what we needed!
A very comfortable relaxing two week stay in well equipped villa. Owner extremely helpful and only ever a phonecall or email away for any problems that might have arisen - but none did! Hired a car to take us around the Algarve but always good to get back to the peace and quiet of the villa. Because of no rain since May the track was very dusty but the wall to wall sunshine every day made up for that easily for us as visitors. Thank you Collette x

A very good quality villa in a rural area. Quiet and peaceful away from it all
The villa was exactly as it was detailed on the website and i would quite happily give the villa on its own a 5 star rating. The area was very quiet but close enough to the main town of Silves. The garden is a work in progress and it was difficult to walk around due to certain parts being rather wild and overgrown. With such hot sun it had rather scorched what was left of the grass in the publicity pictures but the above ground pool was very welcoming especially with temperatures in the mid to late 30s. We did unfortunately get rather attacked by mosquitoes but as it was a rural location it was to be expected. Overall and combining the house and the garden issues this is why i have given the whole property 4 stars. Everything about the house is perfect and is very spacious. Everything is provided in the kitchen and the bbq is great. If we had any criticism it would be with the lower patio round the pool area. It was very uneven and not really suitable to walk barefoot on but this is a very small issue far outweighed by the rest of the property and the fantastic equipment provided. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone. A car is definitely essential. Overall this is a great property for anyone wanting an out of the way place but one which is close enough to the fantasic Algarve beaches.

Great property
We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely villa. It was equipped with everything we needed and more. The contact with the owners was very easy and friendly and we really appreciated the detailed instructions for the house and also for restaurants and places to visit. The pool table, table tennis, games etc were a great adddition and much appreciated by our son who called the upstairs garage room his 'chill out room'. We would highly recommend this property.

Beautifully equipped and perfect for family holiday
Had a great week. If the kids had their way we would have just stayed at the villa...pool, table tennis and football were a big attraction! The Villa is ideally situated to visit all the amazing places around, Gale beach, Zoo Marine, Pirate ship, Loule market and the Piri Piri at Valdemar (Silves) were the highlights when we did drag the kids out! The Villa was beautifully equipped and a great attention to detail. Before we arrived Collette rang us to make sure everything was OK and recommend things like best hire car. We were also pleasantly surprised to find lots of complimentary items in the fridge...nice touch. The Villa was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The book of ideas was very comprehensive and a great help. We are looking forward to visiting again!

Rural get away in a very pretty area of the Algarve
My partner and I enjoyed our two week May stay at this villa. The owners are only a phone call away if help needed and we did need to contact them with an issue when solar heating expansion tank split. All sorted very quickly. The villa is spacious and well equipped with a great kitchen. Wifi works well apart from the Satellite TV channels which we did watch in the evening when we had rain (lots of buffering with the wifi signal). Shower in ensuite brilliant though lighting very poor. Just needs an extra light fitting and stronger wattage bulbs. Tended to use bathroom which was nice and bright. The main bedroom mattress was uncomfortable for both of us. When one turned over the mattress or bedstead creaked - kept waking each other up. Easily solved with a new bed. No previous reviewer has mentioned it but maybe it's got worse lately. There are lovely areas of the garden and Owners are in the process of taming the rest of it. The villa is great value for money for a rural get away in a superb area. My four stars only reflect the bed issue and the garden/pool which I am sure will be improved over time. The advice on restaurants and places to visit was invaluable.
