Planning to go back soon.
Loved the area. Nice walking trail along the ocean front. We walked everywhere or took a van/bus when we were too tired. The pool was fantastic and we swam everyday, sat under the palm trees and read. They had musicians on Sundays by the pool and other events at night which was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful when we needed directions to the caves by bus. Wished we could have rented a refridgerater as it was very hot but plenty of ice at the bar. Loved the food and had free rum and snacks on manager's night. Can't wait to return.

The entire stay was enjoyable and the service was very good. But if they are going to use white towels they need to change them because stained towels are not attractive, they also need to invest in wash cloths.

Best value for your money in Barbados
The stay at silver sands was both relaxing and pleasant. The members of the staff were very welcoming and courteous. The rooms were clean and tidy - a bit old fashioned. The food at the restaurant was fantastic ... especially the steak and red snapper entrees. Overall a great value for the money you spend. The bar had live music from local artists but lacked bar food except during lunch/dinner times. The purpose of my trip was the world cup twenty20 cricket in bridgetown ... and the hotel provided convenient shuttle service to the guests everyday. Its away from all the bustle of the town yet conveniently located near oistins, a very popular party town with lots of food stalls and live music all night.

The staff at the reception are extremely nice and helped a lot. Overall the place was clean and cozy. The staff where the food is was somewhat lazy and the food was lousy and overpriced. I also didnt like that there wasnt even a small refridgerator in the room. If you didnt eat whenever the resort was serving food, you would be left starving! You are also no where near the tourist attractions, couldnt walk anywhere. You would have to depend on taxis. Thankfully my husband had family there and we were able to get out. If your looking for a place to just relax and not interested in sight seeing, this is the place for you.

Silver Sands Resorts is a must stay
Despite some of the previous reviews I found this hotel to be quite comfortable and relaxing. I enjoyed my stay at Silver Sands Resorts and will recommend it to anyone who asks me. There was no need for me to bother the front desk except to make arrangements for taxi. Beautiful surroundings and I will also recommend for those who really need some quiet and relaxing environment.

Great vacation!
Great accommodations, no cash accepted on resort which is good you don't carry cash but a card - eliminating the risks of being (unlikely) mugged/having to tip everyone. Bathrooms aren't fantastic but outside amenities are beyond what I expected. Beautiful white sand beach and pools overlooking the beach.

The hotel is situated at the end of a the bay-chain. So it is quite an aside. So the restaurant was nessesary, but we found it a little espensiv.

Great for Families and overnights -near the airport
We've stayed here at least a half dozen times. The hotel is clean, modest, A/C in the bedrooms, has great grounds, large pool and is right on the beach in Christ Church. It is not a fancy place, but the breakfast buffet is good, the poolside bar and open air restaurant are convenient, and our kids always enjoy the pool and catching crabs around the grounds. It is also close to the airport so it is a good overnight spot if you are flying out to somewhere else. The staff are courteous. Are the beds High quality? No. If you want a ritzy place to stay - stay further north on the west coast, and expect to pay at least double or triple the price. This hotel is a reasonably priced, family friendly place.

Great Value. Enjoyed Our Stay.
We didn't know what to expect. The room was not up to the standards of most hotels we stay at. The mattress was a little old but the other amenities made up for it. We enjoyed our stay. We booked the resort so we could rest for a couple of days after a long long day of airports and airplanes. The place was a great value and perfect for this purpose. It was clean. The staff was wonderful. They have two restaurants and a mini-market. We loved the beach. Very relaxing.

What a delight
Location was a little far away from town but the hotel was a great place to be. We took tours which came directly to the hotel. Though the hotel is a little worn, it isclean and staff cheerful. Beautiful spot!

Don't go!
Two and a half hours for check in, no towels when we finally got into the room. Kitchen, as described was a mini fridge, no mirowave, no dihes, no pans, no paper towels, no soap. We asked for pool towels at 7:00am, and were told they were all out. No one else at the pool. We went to the bar to hear local band, and we were the only guests. We were told by the Bartender that they were at less than 50% occupancy. This is not a place to swim with your kids. Nice for kite, wind, and board surfers. Man lurking in bushes, selling something...hmmm, I wonder what? Do not reccomend.

2-star resort in a great location
After reading lots of the reviews, my husband and I decided to take a gamble and stay because the price was great and it was only one night. Most of the other hotels are over $300 per night, but you get what you pay for. Silver Sands hotel is fine for short stay and if you don't need too much. By US standards it's really a 2 star resort. Don't expect the service to be great; it's slow and the staff is indifferent. However, the room is clean, there's a nice pool, beautiful beach with good waves for body surfing and surfing, nice outdoor bar area and fabulous views.

Location was great! Had to take a bus to surrounding areas, but not a hassel. Great hotel and would recommend this hotel for those looking for a get-a-way with close proximity to nightlife while keeping a relaxing environment.

Needs Improvement
This resort is a wonderful place to stay for if you're in need of some relaxtion time. No need to rent a car just inquire at resort front desk about their local minivans for $1.50 that will take you from point A to B and you'll see our the Bajans live. Make sure to carry your own coffee, tea and sugar as the hotel does not provide any otherwise you can go to the bar and ask for some including ice. Also, if you're in need of wash cloth you'll need to ask the front desk staff along with iron and ironing boarding. Pack alot of snacks with you due to hotel did not have an vending maching on site and the mini- mart on site was never opened. Over-all, this is not a bad resort to stay.

this hotel in Christ Church is right on Silver Sands beach (not the best beach, but its okay). We were told not to leave the hotel ground because outside the hotel is somewhat dangerous according to the locals. The hotel itself has a good pool and restaurant. The food is hella expensive, but the rooms don't have a fridge, etc. It's good just for having a place to sleep. I recommend it for quick trip or if you don't stay in the hotel all day. Other than that, hotel covered our basic needs.

A Negative Experience During a Great Vacation
The Silver Sands Resort was clean and offered an affordable rate through Hotels.com. The staff at the hotel bar were friendly and helpful. Some of the actual hotel staff were not accommodating during our stay. In ONE instance, the air conditioner stopped working. They sent 3 different people to check on it and told us "It seemed fine to them". It wasn't until we complained and demanded to be moved to a room where the air conditioning worked did they offer to resolve the issue. They often did not have clean beach towels available and the hotel food was not very good. My trip to Barbados overall was great. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The Silver Point Hotel (I stayed there last year)which is in the same area is worth the extra money per night to have a better hotel experience.

Right on the beach, friendly staff, food okay, a little far from most of the tourist stuff but transportation was usually available for many outings, a number of guests were Bajan which was kind of cool, reasonably priced, we'd definitely go back

ok hotel for short overnights
This hotel is only 10mins away from BGI Airport ($15 in a taxi) i would stay here again for a short overnight but i wouldn't recommend it for a long vacation. The rooms are clean but old and could do with updating. Very friendly staff and the restaurant food is reasonably priced and not too bad. Overall its an ok hotel and a bargain for an overnight stay.
