"At my arrival I did smell some fresh paint, when I told the front desk about it in friendly way, I was told there is no smell, and you’re not supposed to smell it in a sarcastic way. What a great start at the front desk. Then the guy behind the desk gave the room keys to the bellman I followed him, the room was not ready. I went for a walk for few minutes without even a word. The checkout was great, very professional and with a smile. "

"The location of the Hotel Miramar is fantastic. It is right across from the beach and a short walk to the Medina. The staff were friendly and helpful. The terrace was a wonderful place to have coffee, tea, and dessert. Unfortunately, the hotel itself is a little rundown and in need of refreshing. And, there is no air conditioning, and the rooms don’t have any air circulation so they are very warm. They provided us with a fan which helped a little but it was still uncomfortable. "

"This was a nightmare experience. We booked through Hotels.Com. This was one of the few hotels "available" on a busy weekend. Imagine our surprise when we arrived and discovered the hotel was a gutted shell in the process of being renovated. The restaurant on the ground floor was still open, but we got only a shrug and were told to go away. So, we spent the next few hours searching out an alternative space to stay. "The riad is beautifully decorated, very quiet but right in the middle of the souk. The staff are really friendly and welcoming and we felt like a part of the family after 2 days. The terrace room was lovely - tasteful and stylish decoration, huge and unusual. We loved it. We had a cookery class at the riad with Fatima. After shopping with her in the market we cooked a chicken tagine with aubergine salad. It was a lot of fun and food always gets to the heart of a culture. Of course the best part was eating it. Thank you to Meryem and all the staff for making our stay so special and memorable. "
