"This is our hometown stay as we live in NY but grew up in Paris and come back home to visit often. There was a slight issue with our room Friday evening but the front desk attendant, Jennifer, handled it with speed and efficiency. She essentially bent over backwards for us to ensure all our needs were met!"

"Multiple siblings with families that live out of state to spend Christmas together and with father. In early childhood, they lived in a similar home nearby.The reservation was for Dec 26-29. I had not heard from the host regarding check-in instructions by Dec 23. Host replied the next day with lockbox information. Host also promised to send house rules and other instructions shortly that were not sent.Upon arrival, a rear cement pad was covered in broken glass. Not a great start.Once entering, it was evident no one had been to the property for several weeks. A receipt showing a recent water heater replacement dated mid-November was found. When checking the status of bathrooms, it was discovered there was no water, probably shut off during water heater service. Looking further, evidence of dead plants, mice droppings on counters, and insects (alive & dead) were found. It became apparent the house had not been cleaned for our arrival. Inspection of bedding showed similar lack of care. Stained mattress covers, comforters, and bedding were found throughout. The kitchen was found in similar condition with the oven littered with ash after a clean cycle and a dirty microwave.A message was sent to the host requesting a call. We also followed up with VRBO customer support. The host was given time to have water turned on and a cleaning crew to come in. Those services were not able to be completed the evening of our arrival. We requested a cancellation and full refund."
