"The hotel was extremely clean and convenient in a quite safe location with very walkable route to street markets and Night Bazaar which began at 5pm nightly. Lots of places to eat within walking distance. The property also has a very full breakfast buffet and the sister hotel right next door “The Premier Empress” has a nightly buffet that was delicious. "I've lived in Thailand for years, had a rental car on this trip and am familiar with Chiang Mai. I very much enjoyed our stay at Centara. Earlier reviews stated that this property was run down. It appears to me to have been renovated very well. Our rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable. Reception and restaurant/coffee shop were very nice (though over priced). "The property itself is nice and clean. The rooms are clean and spacious. There is a lot to do in the area if you’re willing to walk a bit. We walked about 30 mins from the hotel to the old town and wasn’t bad. Overall it was a pleasant stay and I will miss Chiang Mai. It’s a nice hotel in a convenient area if you don’t mind commuting a little. "

" Planned a relaxing get away to Chiang Mai. The property is a bit out of the way, but we found enough to eat between breakfast and dinner. The pool and views are amazing. "

"Great location, walkable to major temples, laundry service next door, several nice restaurants and massage places and 7 eleven 5 minutes walk, easy to get transportation, walking streets and night markets 10 minutes walk, very safe area, quiet, comfortable room, comfortable bed, very helpful and friendly staff. Nice breakfast. No bathroom problems. Room small with not enough furniture to store personal belongings. Small swimming pool, did not use it. Overall very nice hotel. Will stay again. "

"We chose Amata Lanna based on its location outside of the old city and based on Google reviews. Not disappointed. Its only 10 years old, but done in old Thai style, with walls around the property mirroring the old city walls. Yumi is a star of kindness and helpfulness. Thank you Yumi and your staff!"

"Cheap rooms but there are several better ones around for the same price. Annoying check with lots of paperwork to sign. Very thin walls so pick up the noise outside. Clean but very old rooms and bedding. Several floors but no lift. The hotel has a new and old building a few side streets apart which is confusing when try to find it. Make sure you know which you need. On the plus side, is cheap and reasonably clean. "

"Basic and standard was as expected. Rooms we had were spacious and comfortable. Don't think anyone going to use the gym that's right in the dining area and has basically no equipment. Placement of plates and cutlery could be better for breakfast time as it's directly below the food that people are accessing and it's always busy. Didn't have any major issues and would happily start here again."

"This was a very clean and simple room. For the price it was very good. There are few amenities but I wasn’t there for the hotel. I was there to visit Chiangmai. The AC was great and the shop was nice and the bed was comfortable except it had one of those heavy combination of blanket and sheet that they like so much. It may the women like them. They are way too hot for most men. I would stay there again. "
