Great property with lots of functional problems
We stayed the last couple weeks of June. I’d give it a 5+ rating for furnishings, cleanliness, outside yard, and location. A 2 rating for functionality; I.e., things working, instructions. Etc. First, understand there were NO instructions for operating things in this house. A/C failed on second day; had to endure 85 degree heat for 3 days until repairman showed up to replace parts to get it working. Additionally return air filter had to be replaced because it was black with dust and whatever. Ice maker was not on; had to have someone come in to turn on (remember, no instructions). The ice delivery system in fridge never worked ; dumped ice into bucket. Dishwasher doesn’t clean; after two tries after which had to hand wash everything; we just hand washed in the first place after that. Master bath shower heads were plugged; removed and soaked in vinegar for 2 days to get working; sink nozzles also had to be cleaned to get any water flowing. Plan on at least 5 minutes for hot water to make its way to master bathroom. Could not figure out how to switch TV from cable mode to playing CDs (no instructions); after prop manager spent 45 minutes fumbling with system finally figured out unconventional switching process to get to work. After 5 days in unit, we discovered by chance that the locking device on front door was not working; we were leaving place totally unlocked as we were out golfing, etc. Door had to be adjusted/filed so dead bolt would lock in.
All in all, we actually enjoyed our stay; we are pretty patient people so even with all the functional problems, the other good things outweighed the problems. Since our review is the first for this property, I have hunch it only recently went on rental market. If so, it was just not ready for prime time. At least whoever follows us should experience fewer problems than we did. If it were not for all the functional problems, we would have rated the stay a strong 5.
