Shoal Cottage - beach escape

An original beach cottage which has been renovated to provide that old holiday charm with all the modern conveniences.

Single level and fully fenced, Shoal Cottage is both child and dog friendly and with a large enclosed back garden there’s plenty of space to play and relax.

Centrally located just 3 mins walk to the river and 5mins walk from the beach, shops and the Heads Hotel, this holiday house is all about location.

The house contains one master bedroom with a queen size bed and two further bedrooms, one with a king single size bunk bed and the other with two single beds. There is a family bathroom including bath and shower, a living/dining area with doors leading onto an enclosed deck and lawn and a modern kitchen with gas hob and dishwasher. Other amenities include washing machine, smart TV, air conditioning/heating system, wireless internet, Bluetooth speaker, gas BBQ, outdoor shower and fire pit.

Shoalhaven Heads is the perfect location to explore the NSW south coast and is an easy two hours drive south of Sydney. There is lots to see and do with highlights including the picturesque village of Berry (12mins), the vibrant coastal towns of Gerringong/Gerroa (15mins) and three local wineries within 5mins drive. The village itself is well equipped with several local shops and cafes, a fantastic local pub, a bowling club, and the recently opened Bangalay Villas fine dining restaurant. The local outdoor swimming pool (open Nov-March) is 3 minutes walk from the house. Further afield the white sands of Jervis Bay and the gorgeous village of Kangaroo Valley are both within 40 minutes drive.

We loved staying here for a weekend with our family of five. A beautiful lakeside home only a short walk to all the beauty that Shoalhaven Heads has to offer. We enjoyed our stay in the lovely Shoal cottage - a wonderful big backyard with sand pit and slippery dip for the little ones to play and run around in, and a fire pit to sit around and toast marshmallows at night. We had a wonderful stay. Lots of walks along the beautiful beach, a day in Berry and a bit of cycling too. The cottage is very comfortable and the yard was great for our dog. We enjoyed toasting marshmallows on the fire pit and appreciated Netflix. Great communication from Laura. Would love to come back again.

Stayed with my family during Christmas- 24 to 26th December 2020. The property was clean, well maintained and we appreciate the Christmas decor prepared for us. Shoal cottage had everything we needed, and the community was peaceful and friendly. Being close to the beach and the river, it offered lots of activities for our family. Highly recommended!

Our family of three (plus our dog) loved staying at Shoal Cottage. The sunny backyard was so nice we spent hours out there every day, and the house was also perfect for a relaxing break. We went for long walks on the beach (after coffee and doughnuts from the surf club kiosk) and also enjoyed walking along the river at dusk. Highly recommended!

We had such a nice extra long weekend stay at shoal cottage.. was rather comfortable & so clean & tidy. We loved the close proximity to everything.. beach, river, pump track, doggy park, pub, cafe, takeaway shops.. the woodfire pizza place up the road was one of the best we’ve tasted. Shoal Cottage was a lovely relaxing place for our trip. Our child loved the bunk beds!! There were a lot of great things for her actually with a backyard, sandpit, toys and games. We loved spotting birds from the backyard and out by the river. Mozzies were pretty bad at the time and we really appreciated the can of Aerogard available when we arrived. Lifesaver!

What a cute cottage, and a lovely little town. We stayed 3 nights and could have stayed longer. Very comfortable bed, great fenced backyard for our dog Archie. Thoughtful additions, blankets for dogs to lie on, stocked pantry, very comfortable bed, clean and tastefully decorated. There were leash free places for Archie to run and swim close by. We did a lovely road trip to Currarong just 40 mins away where there was a great dog friendly bush walk, and on the leash beaches, thank you so much for letting us stay. Highly recommend to doggie families.
