I had a queen/king sized bed all to myself and yes, the room is pretty spacious since I was traveling alone. Walls are yellow and bright but if you look carefully, there are a lot of brown and black streaks/marks towards the bottle of the wall/ground level that made it seem like a kid had taken a marker to the room, or some poopy business had gone awry there...
It was a non-smoking room but the smell of smoke is SO STRONG. There's a window, but don't be fooled, it's not a window with a view. It's a window to a tiny alleyway littered with buckets of random stuff, and once I opened that window, the smoke was intense. Is it a smoking alleyway?! It was so narrow I can't imagine anyone fitting in that space, and I could see into other room's windows if they had their curtains opened. If you're very sensitive to cigarette smell like I am, don't stay here. You've been warned! (It gets bearable after a few nights, but my lungs...)
No fridge :( No free tea :( Lack of English knowledgable staff.
The best thing is the location. It's close-ish to metro station "XiXiang" which is right across the street from a Rainbow Department Store (with a supermarket). Lots of restaurants nearby so you won't go hungry. There's also a night market if you wander towards the Walmart area! So loads of street food, but only if it's not raining! (Note: there's two walmarts in this area--why they need two within walking distance of each other is beyond me, but who cares)
