Pictures usually dont match reality, but this place was the real deal. Host was very accommodating and property was just as advertised. Highly recommend this area and this listing!
Great place for family get together. Backyard is comfortable for families. Reminds me of the old days with one TV in the house. Rooms are connected upstairs. Plenty of space, love the musical instruments available. Lovely home!
What a nice surprise to find this house which was close to family in Sheffield and Tuscumbia. Great decore taking you back to another time with a fun musicical influence.
Must admit we this place based on the photos, what they don't show is what you'll love the most. The history and details that we're put in by the host were truly amazing. Each room felt like it stepped out of a magazine photo. It was gorgeous, warmth and cozy all at the same time.
The house was designed with beautiful antique furniture. We had everything we needed. It had a small fenced in backyard which was great for our Yorkie. The neighborhood was quiet.
It did need some mini maintenance. There was some paint chipping in the one bedroom and wallpaper peeling in the other and the bathroom. But excluding that it is a beautiful home
I visited my son and his family that live in the town. It was just me and my little dog. He and his wife and kids came and visited and the house was spacious enough that we weren’t crammed all together the whole time. I cooked for them while there and there was plenty of cookware. I did have trouble getting the lockbox open but I am sure it was operator error. My dog had plenty of room to run free in the fenced yard. There is also a cute little fire pit out back and chairs to sit around a fire but it got rainy and cold so we didn’t get to enjoy that. It has a nice porch to sit at and enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon drinks. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone with or without a large family or pets. It was wonderful.

Interesting historic home
The house is interesting with plenty of history and timeless character. The bed in the Master and the couches were comfortable. I was disappointed in the sunroom that was pictured as a comfortable space with nice furniture. In reality, the sunroom was bare with stained carpeting and it was not connected to the a/c so it was blazing hot. The upstairs screened porch was also without furniture and dirty so was also unusable. The appliances are dated but do work. The drawers and pantry are messy which I did alert the owner to so hopefully they have been declutterred for the next guest as they were unusable for me. The owner was responsive and allowed me to stay a few extra hours on the last day without a charge which was nice and made the last day of my stay more relaxed allowing for me and my dog to take one more walk in a nearby wooded area with a beautiful creek before we left.
I was impressed that so many of the older homes in Sheffield were preserved instead of being razed and replaced. This property was lovingly renovated and tastefully decorated. The owner was very responsive with any inquiries. I would recommend this property. I also discovered that the owners are in the music industry...which lent a special kicker to my stay in the musically rich Shoals!!
A very cool place to stay. First, the house was built in 1917. It has lots of character of a time period home with the tall ceilings, various rooms, door knobs, large windows etc. Beautifully decorated. Secondly, the owner has given the home a musical flare with guitars hanging in the hall and a tall bass in the parlor. One can easily envision oneself playing along in a jam session or sitting down at the beautiful period dinning table and writing a song.
The home has rooms that are in various stages of remodel, but the living space is very accommodating. The mattress was very comfortable. The porch swing on the back porch was a delightful way to enjoy the Alabama breeze. Easy location to get around the area and conveniently located to parks, restaurants and shops.
The owner is very detailed in the guest needs. Soap, trash bags, fully equipped kitchen, toilet paper, coffee and filters are available. Which is much appreciated!!
