Nobody at the hotel spoke a word of English, they used a translator app to communicate. Even though it said that the hotel was a non-smoking facility, people were smoking in the "lobby" and the room smelled like an mouldy ashtray.
The room itself had no window, the window was in the adjunct bathroom.
The walls and the door had lots of stains and wete partly sticky. A conversation with the receptionist ended with getting mire soap - the translation app did not work that good... The curtains were halfway ripped down.
The positive thing about the hotel is its location, which is perfect for exploring Shanghai. To conclude with something positive: the bedsheets were clean and there were no cockroaches or rats in the room.
