Good hotel in a great location
The staff knew enough English to help as needed, and were very courteous. The location is terrific, across the street from the green underground line. It was a great way to get an introduction to Shanghai. I do wish they had maps of Shanghai available, and the electriicty went off in my room for half an hour as I was packing to leave, which created some pressure, but I was still pleased.

You are paying for LOCATION!
The hotel was located in a fabulous shopping district. It was just a 4 minute stroll to the US consulate. The room itself was tiny and HOT. You have to ask for a wifi router at the front desk. There isn't an extra fee, but you must ask for it. The bathroom was spacious, but the linens were tattered and torn. Honestly, if it weren't for the fact that it was in such an amazing location, we probably wouldn't have stayed.

Extremely bad front staffs attitude.
Hotel staffs are extremely rude and have no manner at all. Shanghai people are generally very courteous except this hotel staff. 1) Hotel concierge DID not bother to open the door while just standing near the door talking and kept talking to friends and fellow colleagues. Guests are usually transparent to them. 2) Hotel check-in staffs are the mother of all rudeness. They don't smile and they don't give u eye contact when they talk to you. I can speak 4 languages and Mandarin is one of my expertise. When you check with them the time to check out they just look at their things and simply say "before 12". Hotel room is big with some refurbishment but the problem is they fix some place new while others left is 20 years old. Bath tub is dirty and old (most probably 20 years old) with patches here and there. Toilet door as well, patches here and there. Worst of all, the hotel will kick u out of the Wifi (the day u check out) meaning from morning till 12 p.m u will not get any wifi. It is very obvious the top management should be sack and replace by some others that are serious in providing hospitality services. I think the PRC government should look at this. The top management including the front staffs should be replace in order not to tarnish the good Shanghainese reputation. They are just a bunch of disgrace to all Chinese. Shame on u all.

Excellent location but old facilities
My wife and me had 6 nights at thos hotel, which is very well located. When we arrived to the hotel and the attention was not the best, and also it was a surprise to have only 1 breakfast included (we were a couple). The room is good, but vey old fashioned and the bed matress is very hard. It is a good hotel considering the location, but the hotel has many things to improve.

Rui Tai Jing An Hotel
This hotel is great for location and one of the main reasons why we chose this hotel, it is 1-2 minutes away from West Nanjing Station and there are also restaurants and drinks stores and a 7 Eleven Newsagent nearby the hotel. When we arrived to the hotel we found the room not so clean and there are signs of rust found in the bathroom. The room is small and cosy, but the beds are very hard so if you prefer a soft bed, this hotel is not for you. As we preferred a soft bed we were disappointed and we used an extra duvet supplied in the room to soften the bed a bit. Most of the facilities were in the room except Wi-Fi can only be accessed in the lobby area. In terms of friendliness of staff, they do speak some English and they were helpful in arranging a taxi to pick us up from the hotel to the airport. Expect to spend about 70-80 CNY getting to Shanghai Airport (Hongqiao) Terminal 2. The breakfast served was limited in range and did not taste very nice (although I have never seen chicken nuggets in a breakfast buffet before) and breakfast is covered for one person a day, so if you travel with someone and want to have breakfast with them in the hotel there is a 58 CNY charge for each additional person. To be honest, I feel that there were some good points of the hotel, but there could be some improvements, such as better breakfast range and having softer beds.

Horrible Hotel
This is a horrible hotel. The facilities are limited. There is no air conditioning nor heater, I have to sleep without wearing any clothes on my upper body on a cool, rainy night, about 57 degree farenheit. In addition, there is no blanket available in the room. Finally, the sink was partially clogged.

Very satisfied
I've stayed there for the third time. Location is great- 2 min from the metro, lots of shops, restaurants, cafes right outside. The no window room is quite good considering Shanghai air polution and noise. The staff speaks english, which is extremely rare in anything other than 5 star hotels. I'll stay there again!

Good hotel for all amenities
Stayed at this hotel many times very close to metro stations , many resturants . My regret this time they put me in a room which didn't have a window or it was glazed so you couldn't see out I asked to be moved and they moved to another room straight away.

Very Old hotel, very good Location
We stayed one night in the weekend, and the location is PERFECT. Just in the middle of everything and shops, copy market, Nanjing Lu, etc. BUT, the beds are super hard like rocks, the hotel is old, bad maintenance, old paper walls. Breakfast very Chinese.

Excellent Location
Location is the best, 1 minute walk to Metro Line 2, west Nanjing station. Travel from Putong airport by Line 2 , just 7 Yuan to the hotel, 170 for Taxi. The hotel room is clean but need some renovate. Bed is pretty hard. Breakfast just one person although you stay in a twin bed and cost 58 yuan. Reception can speak English well and willing to answer your question. I will come back, if they change the bed.

I stayed at the hotel in September and chose it for its proximity to workplace. It is very conveniently located near a subway station as well as lots of amenities, like restaurants, convenience stores, shopping malls, etc. It is a quite an old hotel though, so don't expect too much. The hotel staff are friendly enough, but not particularly helpful, with some exceptions. I am not sure if it was primarily because of language (even though I speak Chinese). The one staff who was most helpful turned out to be the bell-hop. He was much friendlier than the reception staff and went out of his to offer directions and advice on where to go and how to get there. The room was clean, fairly large in size and reasonably comfortable, though for me, the bed was too soft. The buffet breakfast was a disappointment, with a very average spread that was not very well done. Overall, it is a reasonably priced hotel for its convenient location.
