I knew that booking a hotel in China wouldn’t have the same standards as in the US, so I only searched for 4 star and 5 star hotels. The online photos are deceiving, we arrived on 11/9/17 not sure if the hotel facade was the right place (since it looked like a high rise with exposed windows that looked broken into). So we went inside and checked in, indeed it was unfortunately the right place. The lobby was small, the couches looked so used and the whole place wreaked of cigarette smoke. There are two sides of the hotel - A and B. We were assigned to room A416, a two twin bed room. The elevators are extremely slow and small.
After we got off the elevator into this non existent hallway, rather more of a cramped space to put entrance doors on, we entered our room. Naturally we had to put the key into the wall insert in order for the AC to function. Our first glances were at how the wallpaper was peeling off, the stains on the headboard, and how cramped the space was. The room was no more than 150 sq ft. It fit two twin beds and a bathroom, with minimal walk/carpet room. The bathroom had a tub and a stand up shower, which leaked water everywhere because the door doesn’t close properly.
In summary, the only thing good about this place was the price. If I would’ve known the condition of this place (which makes a motel 6 seem like a castle), I would’ve paid more for a better quality hotel. This hotel should belong down with the two star hotels, if that.
