"Quirky but very nice and comfortable. Nelio was extremely helpful. Parking a bit tight but nothing to worry about. Short walk into a lovely little town with plenty of shops and eateries."

"Very friendly hotel - excellent receptionist - very personable- very good value room - I had en-suite - room was very clean - tea and coffee provided - continental breakfast very good - only issue was noise from accompanying room as it would appear that person there was on phone most of the night "

"This is a lovely cosy B&B. The breakfast was brilliant (smoked salmon plus home made marmalade) and service excellent too. My room was very spacious, one small point - the bathroom was so hot, even though I turned off the towel rail socket the rail was still roasting. I can really recommend for business stays around Corby. I'd love to bring my wife here for a short stay to explore Rutland. "

"Stayed on a routine trip to Melton Mowbray. The White Lion was reasonably priced, warm and comfortable, with WiFi that worked well enough for me to work using Teams. The owners and their staff were friendly and helpful. The English breakfast was cooked to perfection and as it was included in the price just making it very good value. I travel every week, and it is nice to find a warm room as well as a warm welcome."

"Room was clean and King Size bed was comfortable. Water pressure in sink was slow until I worked out how to increase it. Full English breakfast was huge and one of the best I have had in any B & B or hotel. Located in a quiet rural village and convenient for Rutland Water."

"Nice enough staff. The pub looked like a 1970’s Benidorm recreation of a British pub with a ceiling full of beer mats. Food was ok but a little overpriced for pub grub. The outside area was filthy. The doors to the outbuildings that house the rooms were ramshackle. The rooms themselves looked like they were last decorated about 30 years ago. The TV was a 20 year old mini tv with free view that didn’t hold the signal. Neither tv or kettle had a PAT testing sticker. The bathroom was grubby...

"What a great find. I was working nearby and needed somewhere to stay. The room was lovely, everything i needed. Couldn't get the tv to work at first, i asked and they came up amd replaced the tv, fantastic service. I had a great sleep and a lovely shower in the morning. 100% recommended.."

"The staff and the welcome they provided were excellent as was the pub grub. The rooms are in need of some refurbishment as they look a little worn out in appearance. The TV was so small it seemed better to watch the news on my phone"

"A nice family stay, quiet village pub. The host was very helpful including recommending an evening meal in the next village which was great (fighting cocks pub). It seems the venue has stopped doing food, but having said that she still provided us with a perfectly good breakfast. The room was clean, a nice little street village view, we all slept well. Great for country walking, a family visit and somewhere quieter in a local pub."
