Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape. Our Yellow Door Cabin is a converted 1970s retro bus, with a floating A-frame loft above. It is complete with a kitchenette and detached full bathroom, reading nook, a king bed downstairs, and a master king bedroom upstairs in the vaulted A-frame loft. With intimately crafted interior spaces, the Yellow Door cabin hosts a large outdoor covered deck, with a grill for spending more time outdoors.

The property is set on the beachfront of Lowell Point. Our cabin is set back in the old growth spruce forest, with fiddleheads, blueberries, and fireweed growing wild during the summer. You space is modern, clean, and caters to the new generation of adventure travelers.
We are remote without being remote. Come indulge in privacy will having all of the modern amenities you might need. A coffee shop right down the street!
Guests have the entire retro-bus and modern addition to themselves along with a propane BBQ grill. There is also a shared sauna and firepit on property for guest use, as well as garden beds (feel free to use in your evening summer cooking!). Private beach access across the street is also available to our guests.
Matt and KellyAnn are available to answer guest questions and provide recommendations for activities in Seward. The cabin includes its own personalized lockpad for self-check in, so guests do not need to interact with the hosts if they prefer privacy.
We want your experience to cater 100% of your needs, so we are available as often or as little as you'd like.
Salted Roots is 3 miles south of downtown, located on Beach Drive of Lowell Point. It is a beachfront property located in a quiet, forested neighborhood. This property is remote without being remote. Close to the kayak, fishing, and water activity launch point. Walking distance from the Tonsina Beach hiking trailhead and the gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park.
Do we need a car in Seward?
Many people arrive to Seward by bus or train. For Salted Roots guests, we do recommend having a car to tour around Alaska.
How can I get from Anchorage International Airport to Seward?
There are regularly scheduled bus transfers from Anchorage International Airport or downtown Anchorage, via the Park Connection. Again, we recommend renting your own car and driving the Seward Highway, a beautiful 2 hour drive along Turnagain arm.

PLEASE NOTE: This is our adventure cabin, with the modern bathroom detached from the original bus, and the second bedroom located in the original bus frame. Not the best cabin choice for those with limited mobility.
This cabin is located at Salted Roots Seward, so please be mindful of other guests when using the outdoor shared spaces, including sauna, firepit, and beachfront.
