Located on Salmon Creek, Bear Bottoms has everything for a peaceful getaway. This unique home sleeps 13 people in 5 beds upstairs and 2 beds downstairs. Enjoy a walk-in shower or jetted tub with a forest view. The kitchen is equipped to prepare meals with access to an outdoor grill. Dine inside or outside as you enjoy the view of the creek and mountains. Create s’more memories at the fire pit. You will have access to the top, middle, & bottom floor of the home.
The main house is one of two units on the property (the other being a mother-in-law apartment that sleeps four also available for rent). There is a top, middle, and bottom floor.
Top floor: After going upstairs, the top floor opens into a large bedroom that has 2 queen beds, 1 full bed, and 1 twin bed (the full and twin are bunk beds). This room has a desk, armoire, chest of drawers, two chairs, nightstands, and a creek/ mountain view that often has eagles perched over the river looking for salmon. This would be a great room for a large family or older children. This bedroom is connected to the master bathroom which has a sink, shower, and jetted tub. Another room in the bathroom houses the toilet and bidet. There is another bedroom attached to the master bathroom. You must walk through the shower/tub area to get to this room which has a queen bed, chest of drawers, and nightstand. This bedroom has a small window overlooking the forest.
Middle floor: The middle floor has the living area that has two sofas, one loveseat, an accessory chair, side table, and coffee table. There is a TV for entertainment. The dining area has a large table, and the kitchen has new stainless steel appliances and accessory appliances to help cook most meals. There is a large deck outside of the dining area with a table to enjoy the view. Outside of the half bathroom, there is an office area with games. The entrance to the house is on this floor.
Bottom floor: After going down the stairs, there is a hallway connecting a bathroom, storage room (locked), and two bedrooms. The bathroom has a shower/tub combo and sink. There is also a sliding door in the bathroom that reveals the laundry room complete with washer, dryer, and boiler system (Please do not touch the boiler system- it is very complicated. Contact your host if you need adjustments in the house). One of the bedrooms has a king bed, chest of drawers, nightstand, and closet. The other bedroom has a queen, chest of drawers, two chairs, and closet.
Outside: The main house has its own grill; however the fire pit is a shared space between both units. There are s'more sticks, an ax, and firewood for guest use.
Please message if you are also interested in renting the mother-in-law suite equipped with its own kitchen, bathroom, and washer/dryer (sleeps 4).
**Warnings**
1. Accessibility to the entrance and bedrooms requires guests to climb entire flights of stairs.
2. There are cameras outside on the property. These are not "gotcha" cameras. The cameras were purchased as a safety measure because of the wildlife in the area. I try to warn guests of potential bears and moose in the area.
3.When outside or if windows are open, you may notice occasional road noise.
4.Guests must stay 5 yards away from the creek (do not go past the wooden bench). The rushing water is very dangerous and falling in the creek could result in injury or death.
5. Fishing in the creek is illegal.
6. No smoking, no parties, and no pets.
7. Alaska is windy! Do not use the fire pit on excessively windy days. Please monitor the fire at all times and put out the fire immediately after use.
8.Bear Bottoms is in the Alaskan wilderness. While viewing eagles next and hunt for salmon is majestic, bear and moose encounters are not. These animals are very dangerous. Be careful and watch out for wildlife. Bear spray is provided at the front door. Please return it when you depart.
9. Do not clean fish on the property, and do not put trash outside (it will attract dangerous animals). There is a black trash mat in the pantry on the right. If you would like your trash removed due to smell, please contact your host.
