Enjoy a soothing soak in the private hot tub, melt away in the super comfy King size master-suite, or relax with a book in the rocking chairs or porch swing.

The cleanest and most beautiful decorated cabin we have ever stayed in while visiting the Smoky Mountains. The solitude is wonderful and the quietness is restful. However, you do need 4x4 for steep inclines on the gravel roads and driveway.

Off the beaten path
This is the best property i have stayed at in the last 7 years. We get a cabin evwry year forthe weekend for our anniversary. This one will be a repeat experience. It requires 4X4 to get there and that was actually a bonus to me. Unlike other visitors we were not lucky enough to see a bear but they are in that area a lot.

Getting to and from the cabin is do able but the road is rough and narrow. As was stated 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is recommended. Luckily, we never met anyone when we were going in or out.

Relaxed to the max
Family of 3 vacation. Never ran into another soul, which was wonderful. The cabin itself was very comfortable and we spend a lot of time in the hot tub due to heavy rains which ended up being very relaxing. We saw several bears in the driveway on different nights. Enjoyed playing and teaching our son billiards. It is a “climb” to get up the mountain, but we had no difficulties in our Telluride. Local food was enjoyable and it is close to the GSM entrances.

Great weekend getaway
Girls weekend getaway. We rented a few cabins and I shared this one with my sister. It was great. Yes like other reviews, copper well water and not strong pressure but it did the job, to be expected in a cabin. STRONGLY recommend a high clearance vehicle and preferably all wheel drive. We had no issues in our SUV. Great vaca.

We did not have four-wheel-drive and made it OK but the roads are very steep and windy and would not suggest it if there’s a chance of weather. The cabin was fully appointed and had everything we could need. I would suggest that brighter light bulbs would be placed as there was not enough lighting. Also the sheets were very uncomfortable as they were very low-grade thread. We noticed that there are many comments about the water smelling bad and it did but it did not ruin our vacation by any stretch.

Honeymoon Trip! Loved this Cabin!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: If you take Willow Tree Rd to Blue Springs Way and then get on Margaret Hollow Way you can find this Cabin. The cabin was very clean. Loved the hot tub. The pool table was also fun to play against my new wife. We stayed here for our Honeymoon. Didn't see Silas though. The bed was very cozy. The owners just updated some of the cabin and did a great job. We are coming back in September for the Shades. Didn't need my 4wd truck but I can tell why they recommend one. The roads are bumpy but remember you are in the mountains. Loved this cabin and the view from the porch.

Nightmare
We weren’t warned of the conditions of the roads and closures at 1:00 in the am we slide of the road on the mountain and we’re told by the sheriff to stay put until morning . We were almost upside down ! We crawled out and walked in the snow up the mountain for 1 mile freezing, falling down crying , praying and finally made it to the cabin . Over all the cabin was warm so God answered our prayer ! We had no food at all ! We ended up renting a Jeep got groceries and it took two days for towing to get use out ! There were others that weren’t warned about the condition too cars everywhere off the road. We stayed one night of the three we booked and went and rented a hotel in town !

March 2021 Stay
This was our Honeymoon getaway. We loved this Cabin. The cabin was very clean and stocked with plenty of linen for our stay.. The bed was very comfy. The fireplace was nice and would quickly warm the living room. We kept the temp at 70 because it was comfortable at night and we never got cold sleeping. Never got to see Silas the Bear. Here is some good directions: Willow Tree RD off Wears Valley, bear to your left onto Blue Springs Way, Then turn onto Margaret Hollow Way & the cabin is on your left. I never needed 4wd at all. But I can see why it's needed on some of the hills. The hot tub was fantastic at night after a day of shopping. The owners did a fantastic job of upgrading the kitchen sink and bathroom faucets. We enjoyed playing pool on the pool table. Pull down the brass ring on the tub faucet to get the shower to work. Had to call maintenance and he came out quickly to show us how it works. We enjoyed this so much that we booked it again for the Shades of the Past in September

October 2018 Stay
This was our first time staying here and I have to say... we loved the cabin. We were looking for something with seclusion and Wow...this place had it. Pros: The cabin was fairly clean besides all the cigarette butts and ashes on the patio. There needs to be a butt bucket so they don’t crush their cigs out on the patio rails. Loved the patio though, bed was really comfortable and the comfort of the cabin-was awesome and had everything we needed. Cons: *Get printed directions. *Hot tub smelled really bad like hot well water. *The roads are pretty rough. We had a 4WD and although I never used it...I’m glad I had it. *The fireplace didn’t work. I called the office and they did offer to send someone out to fix it. *Now about the water. Be sure to bring plenty for drinking and cooking. This is well water and the smell is harsh. I grew up in the country with well water and I’m used to it but my wife wouldn’t even bathe in it. Just a little bit too much for her. We brought a 32 pack and had to buy more.
