The space
Bless My Stars Cabin is the best of both worlds. It's a high-quality, spacious, classic log cabin but with the extra bonus of a fully remodeled kitchen and bathrooms and super comfy beds. You get that cozy, comfortable Smoky Mountain log cabin feel of substantial logs, huge beams and massive stone fireplaces. And yet you can still enjoy the modern conveniences of lightning fast internet plus high end kitchen appliances and amenities.
A common theme from guest reviews of Bless My Stars Cabin is the feeling of spaciousness. From the moment you enter through the front door, there's tall, soaring ceilings and large, open gathering areas where everyone has a seat around the fire or dining table. With multiple levels of entertaining space the cabin is made for family or friends that enjoy being together but still want to separate at times. The remodeled kitchen has an expansive, bright white quartz kitchen island and high end bright blue cabinetry that invites cooking, laughing and making memories. Designed to be family-friendly, the cabin is well-stocked with games, puzzles and more for all ages. There's three levels of expansive porches filled with outdoor games, toys, hammocks, rocking chairs, outdoor sofas, charcoal grill and a private hot tub. There's no better place to listen to the rain and enjoy being surrounded by nature than on those deep, spacious porches. You'll feel hidden away amongst the trees, and yet the roads and driveway of the house make it feel like a suburban street.
Access: If you're concerned about roads and easy access to the cabin as well as tourist attractions, then this cabin is a great choice. Roads to access the cabin as well as nearby Pigeon Forge, Wears Valley and Gatlinburg attractions and restaurants are all paved and reasonably wide. The roads are hilly, but not steep. No matter the weather, it's an easily accessible cabin. The driveway (see picture in listing) is slightly steep and should hold four vehicles. There are additional parking spots in the Smoky Cove community for overflow vehicles.
View: If you are looking for a cabin with an expansive Smoky Mountain vista view, this is NOT the right cabin for you. The Smoky Cove Community is full of mature, leafy, green trees. There's a feeling of privacy and coziness as you look out onto this forest wall of green leaves and branches that dips down into a small valley below. During the winter, when the leaves have fallen, you can see the distant mountains peeking through the branches. But, there is no view.
Layout: The upstairs offers two bedrooms and a shared hall bath. A classic cabin feel with vaulted ceilings (one bedroom with queen sized log bunk bed and the other bedroom with a king sized bed, pullout single bed and fireplace). The main level includes the kitchen, dining area, living area and half bath. Plus a large master suite bedroom with king sized bed, fireplace and ensuite bathroom that includes a walk in shower and separate, jacuzzi whirlpool tub. There are no stairs on the main level or outside leading up to the house, which makes the layout ideal for multi-generational stays (or anyone with mobility challenges). Downstairs is a game room with pool table, arcade, movie theatre room, two bedrooms (king sized beds), a single rollaway bed and another hall bathroom. The lower porch has games and distractions for all ages with hammocks, rocking chairs, a giant Connect Four game and a mini climbing gym. There are beds for 12 people and two twin convertible beds (one twin rollaway and one "chair and a half" twin pullout) to sleep an additional 2 people.
Community Amenities: The Smoky Cove community outdoor pool is a two-minute drive away. There's also a large, covered picnic area, fire pit and horseshoe pit close to the pool that available for your use.
For parents:
For 0-2 years old -- A crib, stroller, high chair, baby gates and other infant toys are provided. However, the cabin is not babyproofed. There are no covers on electrical outlets or cabinet locks. All three full bathrooms include bathtubs.
3-12 years old - We have multiple board games, puzzles and toys for kids and adults. The street outside is quiet and there's rarely any cars. There is also a small side yard and multiple levels of porch decks. For small children the bottom level porch is ideal for playing as it is completely contained and includes hammocks and some toys (imagine a giant play pen. :-)).
