We arrived an hour early and when we texted Deborah, she responded promptly and let us check in early. The property, barbecue grill, and cooking utensils were well maintained and matches the pictures posted. There were no issues with the drainage and works well. The dock and sunset are also very beautiful. Overall no complaints, we’d definitely consider coming back next year!
Stunning cottage with amazing views of the lake. Beautiful lake for paddle boarding, fishing, boating and a great location for watching evening sunsets on the dock! Easy to contact Deborah, and the cottage was clean and comfortable for our family to relax and enjoy!
Property was amazing with multiple decks and views. Really ideal location for boating, groceries, golfing and long quiet walks or biking. Easy in and out process. Truly wonderful.
This cottage had a beautiful view and the area is so picturesque and because it is early Sept. and quieter, you see some of the wildlife and less boat traffic.
We relaxed well.
The cottage is homey but filled with upscale conveniences which was a delight for the cooks in the family.
This place was great, we wanted to do some good fishing over a weekend and this cottage provided just that, with many comforts you would find at home. The nice sized dock allowed lost of space for everone aswell as easy boat parking. The cottage was very clean and the bedrooms were well situated except the front door brought you right into the master bedroom. .The home owner was very quick to respond and was always very helpful. If your looking to do some fishing for a weekend or just want a nice cottage thats right on the water then you won't be disappointed with this one.
Our cottage stay was fantastic. Check in was simple. Ample parking and a nice rear lawn. The cottage views are beautiful and the sunsets something to see. Lots of room in the cottage. Good size bedrooms and the Master is very spacious. Decks on the front and side are large and the dock at the water perfect for relaxing. The water was very clear and great for swimming. Good size bbq on the deck was nice. Totally relaxing. Very quiet. We are already looking forward to going back next year. We had a wonderful time.
Our family had a great week away at this property. Deborah was very attentive to our questions prior to booking as well if anything came up after booking. She was a true pleasure to communicate with.
In regards to the property, the master bedroom and ensuite were very welcoming and had a great view of the water from the bed. The other two bedrooms were a bit warm with how hot it was for us, but there were plenty of fans supplied which made it comfortable to sleep at night.
Both washrooms were very cleaned, and well maintained. The kitchen had a good amount of dishes, cooking utensils, pots and pans and everything you would need for a vacation house.
One thing we appreciated was that there was no internet and it allowed our family to truly disconnect for the week which made our vacation that much more enjoyable.
The lake..... wow! We did not have a bad sunset and the bay wasnt too busy for the labour day weekend. Lots of boat traffic through the main lake, but definitely quieter through the bay. We were sure to take advantage of the fishing, kayaking and paddle board.
Overall we had an incredible experience and would highly recommend this property to anybody!
This cottage was perfect for our holiday. A beautiful spot, with clean clear water, safe for swimming in a protected bay part of a bigger lake. Water is about 7 feet deep (?). The property is very well maintained with easy accessibility and even surfaces for walking. Check in was seamless. The cottage itself was spacious, clean, and tastefully/ minimally decorated making it easy to relax. It had everything needed for our holiday. The kitchen was well stocked with up to date kitchenware and appliances. There was ample cupboard space for storage of food. Everything was in working order. The sliding doors and large windows made the place light and airy giving a great view of the sunset. The deck was easy to access and had lots of comfortable seating, a big table and a big offside umbrella for shade.
The master bedroom had a very comfortable king size bed. All the bedrooms had excellent mattresses, and high quality bedding/pillows making it feel like a hotel!
For my elderly parent, the big, "walker accessible" bathroom, equipped with handles for seniors with mobility issues was a big plus! The cottage really was "senior friendly". Finally, our hosts (Deborah/Bill were exceptionally communicative and attentive, (letting us know they were available if needed). This is a really peaceful spacious clean and comfortable getaway on a beautiful lake! Highly recommended!
Cottage was great, very bright and lots of room for five adults. We used the wood burning fireplace every evening, and spent the days on the upper deck which has wonderful views. There was lots of comfortable outdoor seating and the area was very quiet. There is no Wi-Fi but the cell phone reception was very good. The satellite TV had lots of channels. Check in was easy with the key code. We will return.
4 nights of great cottage life. Just what we needed. All amenities included. Great swimming off the dock, paddle boards and kayaks were used, fire pit was great. Shower was great with good water pressure. Sunsets were brilliant. Easy to find. Make sure you bring all your groceries (including the basics like salt and pepper) with you - closest good grocery store is in Midland (25 min).
We had a great time in the peaceful home right on the lake. The decks are wonderful for relaxing and watching the sunset. I would suggest a book of information about the area, a map, and suggestions for outings. We really enjoyed our trip to Big Chute. Renters should make note of the amenities. No wifi, microwave, or laundry - which made a very peaceful visit.
This was our second year at the property. Process was easy and cottage and facilities were great. One of the best locations on the lake. Water activity or hike right out the door. Our guests that visited will not let us rent another cottage as everyone just loves the layout and facility and surrounding facilities. Hard to match compared to other rentals.
The cottage was as listed. Note there is no microwave or dishwasher which isn't a deal breaker for us, but could be for some. There is a great boathouse and dock if you have a boat (unfortunately we did not). Some weeds in the bay but still quite swimmable. The area where the fire pit is set up is on a tricky slant so you feel like you're either tilting into the fire or into the lake-would've been more comfortable if this area was flat. Deborah was quick to respond to any questions and helped with activities in the area. Overall, it was a good stay.
Wonderful place to chill and relax with friends and family. Had a great weekend with my friends. Cottage is great, not too big not too small, perfect for anyone who enjoys being outside at the cottage.
