The lodge is located in a central place amongst the vast Serengeti, so it is relatively easy to visit the sites where the animals are located. I found the buffet fantastic with a great chef and helpful staff. Dancers accompanied the evening meals and there was a nice vibe in the dining area. You cannot leave the premises of the lodge, it literally is too dangerous to do so, as hyenas, warthogs or even a hippo may attack you. An incredible sight I witnessed was to see a giraffe appear at night behind my room! Some mornings, monkeys would appear on the roof of the lodge, but they were harmless and ran away from the sight of us.
The views from the lodge of the Serengeti are fantastic and many a guest woke up early to try to witness the sunrise or sunset.
The rooms are just about spacious enough for 2 people but the wi-fi is poor. Lights go out at 12 midnight and there is no hot water from 12 to 6 AM, not a huge issue for me personally. The gym has a good set of equipment’s and was not busy at all during my stay. I regretted not taking binoculars for my safari and I think it would be a good business opportunity if the lodge rented these out.
