The walls were paper thin so i could hear people talking until 1am even though it’s quiet time after 11, and someone taking a bath above my room and then showering five times until 3am. I got no sleep in the two days I was there. Otherwise the staff are lovely, the bathrooms are neat and the kitchen is good. Not the most convenient location but close to the subway.
This place was amazing and homey! The staff are incredibly nice and understanding and they all speak fluent English! My mother and I had an amazing time in this exceptionally cute place. Its very close to the subway, about 5-7min walk and only about 20 min walk to Hongdae if you wanna save on the fare cost! Sincerely recommend this placeaand would love to return!
Lovely property, and helpful staff. The bed was quite hard, but that may be other people’s preference. Clean and modern. A nice 20 minute walk to Hongdae.

Overall, I liked my time here. Apart from being really hard to find and not close to anything at all, I initially wondered what I got myself into. Once I got out and about I really liked the area I was in. Only 10 mins walk to the hustle and bustle but along the way, there were lots of laneways and cafe's and bars to explore close by. That sort of stuff isn't advertised and is the biggest feature of the area. The guesthouse it's self was warm and welcoming and what you would expect from a good guesthouse.
Hotel was dirty, cluttered and poorly maintained. Rooms/bathrooms not cleaned between guests. Website pictures are from several years ago. Breakfast was bread. You had to wash your own dishes afterwards. Room and bathroom had terrible odors. Bathroom not connected to room. Bathroom door did not lock; asked staff and they had no intention to repair it. Two lamps had no light bulb; staff had no light bulbs. Laundry room disgusting. Breakfast at 9; however they did allow us to get breakfast early when we had an early schedule. Staff helped us to get a taxi to airport and to order a pizza one evening. A housekeeper came to hotel once or twice during our 4 night stay. Our lodging was not cleaned. Did give us clean towels on day 2 but did not remove dirty towels. Towels for kids were hand towels. Housekeeper did give us a Korean snack one afternoon. That was sweet. One evening the staff and guests were very loud but when I spoke to the staff they did bring down the volume. Hotel is ok for young adults but do not recommend for families or anyone who likes cleanliness. Or breakfast. Or comfort. Or odor free room. Hotel was close to buses, train and a few restaurants/street market. When arrived, staff did not offer to help with luggage up the many flights of stairs. Dreaded coming back to this hotel every day. Our children begged us to leave as soon as we were dropped off and came into the hotel. Would have if we hadn’t already paid! House was like dirty frat house.

Plain and simple hotel. Poor location. Taxi drivers cannot find it. It is though five minute walk from metro station once you have worked out the route. Takes up to 45 minutes to get to city centre.
From the pictures the Mei Haus looked like a nice and simple guest house but once we arrived it appears that the place is just photogenic. The place is a bit of a walk from all the shops and difficult to reach if walking from the other side of the road as there is a railway track in the way. The big thing for us is the cleanliness. There was dust everywhere and the communal bathroom was in quite a state. Thankfully we got an en-suite room but only to find that we had a wet room for the bathroom which we didn't know about. The double bed was small and uncomfortable but at least the pillows were good. The room didn't have heating but came with a portable radiator. The kitchen wasn't very clean either. At least the staff were nice and helpful, although when we arrived we were only provided 1 big towel and they expected one of us to use a small towel. The place was cozy but they could really improve on the cleanliness and the comfort of the place.
Stayed on underground single room. Moldy smell and room is full of moisture. They don’t made your bed nor change new towel before you ask. You can’t check out early because the staff shows up at 10, and you need to retrieve your 10$ keep for your room key. Don’t stay lower level rooms. It is all moldy and smelly. Breakfast is not real. Because you have to wait till 10. You are busy person why wait that long for few pieces of bread.
The guesthouse was not difficult to find and the guy that checked us in was very friendly. I just needed to stay one night and left early morning so did not use much of the facility but was comfortable. Only drawback was that the bathroom seemed a little dirty. Could use some bleach

The mei haus.....
The staff at the mei haus are nice and helpful in answering any questions you may have. We stayed for two weeks and moved rooms twice. Breakfast= bread, jam, peanut butter. Meat and juice. They provide coffee and tea as well. The neighborhood is quiet and near the bus stop. I really liked the hongdae shopping area and ewha which is 22mins. By bus. Nam daemon was nice too 40mins. away. Gyeongbokgung palace is 26mins.away by bus. Gajwa station is 5 mims. walk. Next time, I'm going to jeju island and maybe stay at the mei haus forestville.
Nothing fancy, but clean, quiet, and very accomodating and helpful staff. Fully equiped shared kitchen, with large frig and freezer. Provide your own food, and clean up after yourself. Close to subway. I stayed ten days while attending a conference.
The Mei Haus was a comfortable and clean guesthouse where I stayed for 2 weeks with my girlfriend. Since I stayed there for a long time I had lots of questions about how to move around Seoul by trains (KTX), bus and subways and all the staff members were very helpful. Seung H gave me information about good restaurants in Seoul and how to cook fast good korean food. Gi B is very good too. Jamie was always available to help me with some troubleshooting. Thank you to the staff at the Mei Haus!
We were looking for a comfortable place for a family of four and found it. It's a comfortable and welcoming guest house with good access to public transport and the airport train. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing, modern environment in which stay. Guest staff were very friendly.
The photos look clean and bright but all rooms are not like so. The single room I stayed is very different to the photos' atmosphere. The photo are looked too much nice. Around the bed was clean, but there was only a tiny window near the ceiling so you can't open it. Then the air in the room was always bad. Also the fan in the bathroom didn't work well.
On the other hand, the kitchen space and shared dining room are more comfortable with clean air. The staff were kind.
