Homely space for a few weeks
We spent almost a month here while doing some volunteer work in the area. Villa Batu Sisi became our comfort space with a very homely feel.
Adung and Marley (onsite staff) were the highlights for us. Wonderfully friendly and no request was a problem for them. They took care of the house, our washing and cleaning and helped our boys husk coconuts and harvest mangoes.
The Villa was fine but does need some attention and would benefit from renovation as it’s quite dated. The A/C is not very cold and had to be serviced while we were there. They probably need to be replaced. That said, Ann the owner said she was happy to get new units while we were there if we wanted. We just got used to the heat.
A fresh coat of paint and bathroom renovations would go a long way to refresh this place. The building itself is quite impressive with traditional style exposed timber ceiling in the main area, locally made furniture and a very authentic feel.
Located down a dirt lane way gives a very authentic rural feel and makes for a wonderfully private and quiet experience at night.
Overall this villa held us well, but if you’re looking for luxury, wait until it’s renovated or look elsewhere.
