Walking distance to Seattle Capitol Hill and downtown #2

Welcome to First Hill of Seattle, walking distance to most downtown attractions, few blocks to Capitol Hill coffee shops and restaurants, and walking distances to many Seattle downtown attractions, for examples,

+ 25m walking to Seahawks games
+ 30m walking to Pike Place Market
+ 20m to Underground Tour

Please read owner's note at the end before your booking.

This is independent top unit in a 4plex property at First Hill with its own entrance. All indoor spaces in pictures are yours and NOT shared.

There are two bedrooms with queen beds for accommodate max 4 people sleeping and the third room is used as living room with a TV and a sofa/futon, the futon can be converted into a queen bed for two more people, the bedding is provided if asked.

There is NO dedicated parking for guest, even many free street parking near by are first come first serve but it is found challenging for visitors to figure out rules free parking sections. Please communicate with host on street parking tips if you do decide to drive your car and look for street parking.

Please note laundry room in the building is shared and coin-operated, please bring some quarters if you plan to do laundry during your stay, $2 for washer and $1 for dryer.

The owner adds below description about the unit to help guests to know what to expect so they can enjoy their stay and happy.

The building is about 115 years old so many of the constructions are still original, for examples, all windows with single layer glass, all window trims, hardwood floors are original, bath room and kitchen have been largely remodeled except shower bathtub. All beds are very comfortable and clean. There is a wall furnace in kitchen can keep the whole unit warm during winter if all bedroom doors are open, each bedroom is also provided with a space heater as supplement. A window air condition is equipped in the kitchen but it may not enough for the whole unit during the hottest days in Seattle.

If you look for everything new and modernized facility, this may not be the place.

Seattle Weekend
Had a short trip to visit Seattle and go to a Seahawks game. The location was great and close to everywhere we wanted to be and see. The space was perfect for our group and we had an easy time navigating everything from finding it to access to maintenance of the space. Anything we could’ve needed was communicated by the host and they were quick to respond. Would absolutely stay again!

Convenient location
This apartment suited our needs. We were in Seattle for a concert. The apartment was close to transit, convenient stores for a few groceries and a great Vietnamese restaurant, Ba Bar. The host had great communication. The beds were very comfortable! The apartment was a bit run down and some areas needed a deep clean. The futon/couch in the living room was uncomfortable for watching tv. In general though, we were happy with our 2 night stay here.

Terrible
We knew was an old building, but old and clean is different, the place is really dirty, and smells bad. The dishes tray is old and dirty, we couldn’t use the kitchen at all. The street noise is terrible, hombless yelling all night. Very close to everything but can’t sleep at all

Great location & stay!
Went to Seattle for a concert at T-Mobile Park. Was there for a week. The house is older but have charm! We had no issues during our stay. We communicated with the host before and during our stay. Everything matched what was described / as seen. We really liked the location. It was near a lot of things and easy to access Downtown as well as the other areas. We got around mostly using the scooters which was a blast, Seattle has a great bike road system. I would recommend this stay to anyone!

Loud neighborhood with very warm warm rooms. Large two bedrooms with good beds. Kitchen and bathrooms are adequate. Bathroom had mold on sink.

Convenient location great communication
Not gonna lie, the area is a little rough but we didn’t encounter any issues and loved the ease of walking to the city and local restaurants. The owner is super friendly and fast to respond to questions. He has added special touches with lovely art and comfy bedroom amenities. This is not luxe but lovingly cared for and absolutely functional. Would stay again.

This Property Should Not Be Allowed on VRBO
The first thing you see as you stop in front of the house is the graffiti on the front gate. Then the smell kicks in when you open the first door. The overwhelming smell of urine is all around you. There was trash left behind on shelves, dirty laundry under the bed. Walked into an open window that not only had no screen, but it didn’t have a lock either. The neighborhood does not feel safe, so there’s no way I could stay there without basic safety measures like locking windows. The host was terrible, just blamed it on the housekeeper, the prior tenant, etc. I ended up paying $1000 to stay in a hotel. Lasted 10 minutes in this place.

Couple of nights in Seattle
This is an old, spacious place with good sized bedrooms which is well located for downtown Seattle - you could walk but bus stops and and a first hill tram stop are really close. The appearance from the street did give us a shock - with graffiti on the gate and an over grown garden, but once inside and up the stairs to the apartment we were comfortable. For light sleepers the road noise in the front bedroom might be problematic. The communication from the host was excellent, and for the location and price point this is a good place to stay.

Fit our needs
Sufficient for short stays. Neighborhood looks a little rough, but had no issues with anything or anyone. Water was hot, the towels and showers were clean. That’s all we needed. 15-20 minutes to airport. Well worth the price. The host was easily accessible if I had any questions.

Cancellation
We were impressed with the apartment when we went to visit on the first day, however since my daughter was 33 weeks pregnant at the time she could not make it up and down the older steep stairs very easily. We were not able to stay even for one night, but were given a 50% refund minus the fees even though we could not cancel until after our first booking day. The host was very understanding of our circumstances.

Heat inside the house
Older widely-spaced house with no residual heat at least at 65 degrees to help the small individual heaters heat the rooms. No heat in bathroom at all. Had to move one in there. Need hand rail going down the old steep steps. I am older and balancing not to fall daily was a chore. My room ONLY ONE OUTLET WORKED...BEHIND THE BED. Otherwise, appreciate it being so close to Harborview Hospital to visit my son. Thank you. J. McLean

Immerse yourself into the local community
Good location and really felt part of the local community. Accommodation is in an old house which has been divided into four separate units. Ours was a two bedroom unit on the second floor. The unit is very spacious and quite well provisioned. We were concerned about street parking but whenever we needed it we managed to find a spot overnight outside the front:-). Would benefit with a washer dryer. But otherwise all good at an affordable price.

Lots of space
The unit is in an older house with character. Our group of four had lots of room to spread out. The kitchen was well equipped. There are a few things that could make the unit better. The futon needs linens for the pillows and duvet. The bedrooms were fine. One of the bedrooms had no mirror for getting ready, Overall we really enjoyed it. I would consider staying again if I had a large group. Thank you.

Pre-cruise stay
Wanted to spend a couple of days in Seattle to sightsee before getting on a cruise ship. We either walked, took Lyft , or bus to all destinations. Walking could be challenging for some due to the very steep hills. However, the accommodations were very pleasant and the owner was very reachable. Beware, there is a hospital just down the street and the front bedroom does hear the noise from ambulance sirens. Also, when the owner states parking is a challenge, they are serious. It's a good thing we did not have a car to worry about this.
