Grace and Rachel were mostly helpful in advance of us staying with them, however some of our questions/requests in advance of our arrival sent via VRBO went unanswered (i.e. request for earlier check-in). I think they may be more responsive via text than through VRBO, as we did not have trouble reaching them via text during our stay. There was also some incorrect information in the listing, specifically: "$25/night for each additional guest over 4 people Queen size Aerobed available upon request". Although we were only 4 guests, we requested the air mattress so different sexes would not have to share a bed. Grace and Rachel did not understand this request and this bed was not available. Per Grace/Rachel, the space also maxes out at 4 people, it does not accommodate more than this (even for extra $25/night, as stated on their page).
The building itself it is dark and dingy, but provides good security with key fob needed to access the building. The apartment was clean on the surface, but is clearly fairly old - the carpet definitely needs replacing and one of the lights only works if set a certain way. We did not have Wifi the first 2 days (half our stay). Grace/Rachel were quick about obtaining a new router, however, they did not activate it, so we had to contact them again and were without Wifi for an additional day.
The pull-out couch was incredibly uncomfortable, as you can feel every spring through the mattress. Piling on blankets (provided) helped a bit with this. The living room was also quite cold as the window could not be closed due to the attached air conditioner unit (which was covered and not in use, we visited in late Sept). We would also recommend the hosts invest in a full-length mirror, additional bath towels, and 2-ply toilet paper for a more comfortable stay.
If the convention center is your only destination, this location cannot be beat. There is a shortcut through the park beside the building, about a 3-minute walk. To get to attractions downtown (Pike Place Market, etc) you can expect to walk 15+ minutes, but it is doable.
Finally, some of our deposit was deducted for "damage to the closet door", although we did not notice damage in this area at any time during our stay. I would recommend documenting any damages when you arrive and taking pictures when you leave, as now we do not have any evidence to dispute this claim.
