Escape to The Sea Ranch and this blissful three-bedroom, two-bath home just steps away from the Pacific Ocean. You'll have water views throughout the interior and plenty of window seats for reading, relaxing, or just watching the waves. You'll also have a private hot tub and access to Sea Ranch's three rec centers with seasonal pools and tennis courts. This home also allows two dogs, so your furry family members can come along too. Nestled in a cluster of homes near the Bluff Trail, this tranquil escape offers a great location just a three-minute walk from Shell Beach, and an equally short walk to Tidepool Beach’s seal rookery. The playground area is a five-minute walk to the north.

Inside, you'll find classic wood-paneled walls and plenty of places to sit back and contemplate life. The living room features attractive décor, a wood-burning stove, as well as a large flatscreen TV with a DVD player, a Roku, and stereo sound. The full kitchen includes major appliances and is well stocked for preparing vacation meals. There's even a dishwasher for easier clean-up. You can pick up groceries at Surf Market in Gualala, grill out on the deck, and enjoy a seafood feast around the dining room table for dinner.

On sunny days, sit out on one of the four decks that overlook the ocean view. Or, spend chilly coastal evenings soaking in the hot tub within the enclosed deck and garden. No matter how you spend your time, the whole group will feel right at home here! At night, three bedrooms have one king and two queens - ideal for up to six guests. All bedrooms are cozy and inviting, the large primary with its own gas fireplace and window seat.

You will also have a washer/dryer so you can stay up on laundry needs during your stay. Sea Ranch offers a one-of-a-kind experience on the stunning Northern California Coast. This coastal community is an oasis of natural landscaping, rocky shoreline, wildlife, and meandering bluff trails through old-growth hedgerows and wide-open spaces.

If you don't feel like cooking during your stay, stop by Trinks Cafe on a Wednesday or Friday for one of their dinner nights, or keep heading north on Highway 1 to St. Orres, one of the area's most unique restaurants.

Day trips can include Mendocino about 55 miles north or spend the day closer to home and wine tasting just up Annapolis Road off Highway 1. Sea Ranch itself offers rec centers for pools and tennis, rocky beaches with tide pools, trails including Monarch Glen for butterfly viewing, and even golf at the Sea Ranch Golf Links. Get away to the stunning California Coast and Sonoma County with a rejuvenating stay at this comfortable and family-friendly Shell Beach home at The Sea Ranch.

Great location-run down home
Online pictures didn't show the broken and missing tiles, old baseboards , broken screens or no sliding screen & broken handles including the bathroom shower doors. The lights in kitchen are dirty and you can't see out of the master bedroom sliding door. Definitely needs some tlc!! Noise travels through the home when you walk or close the soors.

Good house. Great location! Owner needs to do some minor maintenance and I hope they are done by the time the next guest arrives. Thin walls so you can hear everything going on in every room. But it’s a good sea ranch home.

Great location walking distance to beach, well equipped and stocked with games, books and activities. House feels quite dated and has clearly not gotten any upgrades in a long time, but was clean and perfectly suitable.

Good! Just one weird thing
Overall the house was perfect for us. Really comfortable and a great location. There was a really weird interaction with the host though. They gave us one kitchen garbage bad for four adults for 5 nights. When asked them about it, they said one bag per can was their policy. Just seemed like a weird thing to skimp out on. Other than that, the house was great and we had a really nice time!

Shell Beach House
Let’s start with the most positives. The location is excellent & it’s pet friendly. Both very much on the plus side. Overall, the house was adequate for our five-day visit but compared with several other houses we’ve stayed in at Sea Ranch, this one had a few negatives making it not worth the price we paid. Our guess is that this one of the earliest homes at Sea Ranch & very little had been done to upgrade it. This was most obvious in the bathrooms & kitchen which were very dated. In both cases they were undoubtedly original. The tub/showers had none of the safety features one would normally expect—no grab bars, no mat or treading on the tub to keep it slip-proof. In the master bath the faucet sink was so hard to operate it took force to open it. The kitchen has an electric stove. The left rear burner sags badly & will not support a pot. The house has no central heat. There are only two heat sources: a gas stove in the master bedroom downstairs which worked well & a wood-burning stove upstairs in the main room. We would have loved to have a fire upstairs, but while an abundance of large wood pieces was available, there was no kindling. There was one laughable sheet of paper provided next to the firewood. (This failure was probably attributable to the rental service or cleaning crew.) The house is sunny during the day but overall the lighting is not great for curling up with a book. And one gross thing. We went to take place mats out of a cabinet only to find them moldy.

Lovely Family Vacation at Shell Beach
My family and I had a very enjoyable stay at Shell Beach. It was our second time staying at this house and the location cannot be beat. The views of the ocean are stunning as well. The house is very comfortable, but not fancy. They even had toys and books that my daughter enjoyed. We will definitely return.

Location of home is spectacular. Quick access to the beach was wonderful. Having our dogs with us was fabulous. Unfortunately the pictures of the house don’t accurately reflect the current condition of the home. The home needs a great deal of maintenance.

Never received a correct WiFi Password
We had two children (ages 7 & 9) who came on condition that they could stay in school remotely. Unfortunately, neither of the WiFi passwords (one that came by e-mail before we arrived and the second in a folder in the rental) was accepted. When I called Vacasa, the property manager, and explained the problem I was told to expect a phone call within the hour. It never came. I was able to connect my computer by pressing a button on the router, but my grandchildren's iPads did not offer that avenue to connection.

Restful respite
Shell Beach house is a quiet, comfortable haven, with the loveliness of the meadows and also a glimpse of white water. Loved reading in the sun on the comfy window seats! The hot tub was totally yummy to enjoy in early morning while dozens of birds chattered in the trees, and at night when we could lean back and watch the stars. The kitchen is super well equipped with pots, pans, dishes, glassware. The house is located right by one lovely beach, and right by another (protected) where you can overlook seals sunning. Right by magical tide pools. Comfortable furniture, comfy beds, a huge library and lots of games and even kites! Could not ask for a more perfect Sea Ranch getaway, except to wish we’d had more time.

great location
Location is wonderful! House is comfy, especially the window seat. Hot tub ws not warm enough and had trouble adjusting temp. Side yard is very pretty but could use more chairs if you wanted to sit outside, Decks are small. Downstairs bath is shared plus you have to go through it to get ot laundry room and outside.Could have used more towels too..All the closet floors had the owners things stacked, so not much room. Think that needs to be addressed.Beds were fine, but pillows were awful! Bring your own! Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely rent again.

The house was comfortable and beautiful, and the location and views couldn’t be better. + Sea Ranch.
We love the house—the books, the art, the views and window seats, the location within biking distance of Moonraker Pool, which our grandchildren love, and an easy walk from Pebble Beach.. it looks and feels like a real house, rather than a hotel suite, which made it very comfortable for all of us. Many thanks to the owners.

Shell Beach House
I've stayed at numerous houses within a span of decades. This is one set up which has the common areas (kitchen and living room) on the top floor. It was close to trails and it was a nice stay. Nice. Suggestion: The hot tub did not work well, I had to find the reboot and it never got hot - though I was told the maintenance person looked at it. There needs to be instructions given - the dials are old and worn; I don't know if they work. Regardless of that, it was a very nice stay.

Perfect location, spacious house with some issues
The ocean views and short walk to the beach were incredible and everything wonderful about this stay. The house is a nice size. Lots of things in the house were falling apart though - we had an especially difficult time with the upstairs bathroom door, which was a complete mess and wouldn't lock or even close. We had to have the house manager send a repair person for that. The bathroom door downstairs was also a struggle, albeit not as bad. It was just really hard to get it to lock. The main door to the master bedroom got stuck the second to last day we were there - no one could turn the knob even though it was unlocked, it was crazy. So when someone was going to the bathroom downstairs we were pretty much stuck in the master bedroom! Not ideal. There were also some cleanliness issues. In a back corner of the upstairs bedroom, there were these crusty little worms that at first looked like bird droppings or something. There was also an appalling stain on the carpet in that corner. That corner was so gross that I'm impressed my parents-in-law were still willing to sleep in there after noticing it. I guess they were just more focused on how their bathroom door wouldn't close. All of the carpets rather need replacing. The drinking water is absurdly over-chlorinated and none of us could stand to drink it. I happen to be a doctoral researcher studying the reaction chemistry of disinfectants, and high doses like this are both unnecessary and bad for your health in the long run. Chlorine reacts with organic matter in the water and creates disinfection byproducts like chloroform, bromoform, and a whole battery of other chemicals, many of which may be carcinogenic in the long term. They enter our bodies through ingestion, inhalation, and some through the skin as well during bathing. The hot-tub was terribly over-chlorinated as well and that made for a less pleasant experience.

We were very happy with the location; so close to the beaches! It was great weather and very quiet.
This house is ideal for its proximity to ShellBeach. The neighborhood is perfect for access to trails and Gualala. The house is very comfortable and stocked with everything for a family. The only thing we missed was a recycling service so we just tossed our bottles and cans into the garbage. We needed service from Vacasa for the heater and got an immediate response to correct the problem. Refreshing!! LOVED THE FLOCK OF SHEEP IN THE MEADOW NEXT DOOR, and our little deer visitors every day.

Perfectly positioned for a wonderful weekend
Steps to several beaches and incredible hikes. Loads of bike paths/biking trails. The house worked beautifully for another family, my husband and I. Their two kids had their own room, next to mom & dad and we were upstairs, which was perfect. The kitchen has great tools, pots and pans. It was a BEAUTIFUL weekend, lovely weather, comfortable temperature. Who would have known we could have such perfection in January!
