Summary:
Welcome to your peaceful getaway to the Sea Ranch at Cloud 9. This 3 bedroom/3 bathroom vacation home is located on an open meadow hillside overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean.

The Space:
Enjoy the great location in the Sea Ranch, just 4-minutes away from the Shell Beach Access Trail, 7-minutes away from the Del Mar Recreation Center, and less than 10-minutes away from Gualala Point Regional Park.

The main living space has a bright open floor plan. The cozy living room is furnished with comfortable seating gathered around a gas fireplace and mounted flat-screen TV. Smart TV, and WIFI are provided for your entertainment. Lounge chairs are situated in front of large windows, offering the perfect space to curl up with a good novel.

The kitchen is prepared with stainless steel appliances for delicious meals. There is a drip coffee maker, and microwave. The kitchen counter has seating for 2 and the dining table has seating for 6. If you're in the mood to dine alfresco, step outside onto the private deck clad with a propane BBQ and outdoor dining table.

The jacuzzi tub is permanently out of order. The home has two other showers/bathing areas.

The Sea Ranch is a planned community with over 3000 acres featuring: The Historic Sea Ranch Chapel, The Sea Ranch Lodge (restaurant and shopping), a 50-mile trail system with 6 public beach access points, and three recreation centers with outdoor pools, locker rooms, half-basketball court, and tennis courts (amenities vary with each center) for guest use. RV's, trailers, or mobile homes are strictly not allowed.

Other Things to Note:
This home will be stocked with a starter set of consumables such as soaps and paper products. Guests are advised to either bring or purchase additional after arrival.

We spent 3 nights. Long time girlfriends meeting up with our sons to just enjoy the beauty of the Sea Ranch. The house was just what we expected and the views were just as advertised. The house is nestled on the hillside with beautiful views. We also enjoyed the wildlife. Deer grazing casually and the resident turkeys that hung around. They didn’t seemed bothered by us at all and we loved watching them. We also enjoyed the coziness of the fireplace after returning home from all the amazing hikes just a short drive away. I would highly recommend this house. It was just as advertised and more.

A view to die for!
As others have said, the defining characteristic of this property are the amazing views. Our family of 6 (two parents, two grandparents and two kids) had a wonderful stay. I loved the design, lighting and décor of the home. Be aware that the house has three floors with each bedroom on a different floor. Since our family has a wide range of ages with young kids and seniors, this worked well for us as each room was quiet with a lot of privacy. I did wish that there was more outdoor seating for enjoying the views. I would also caution parents with small kids that the third floor has a balcony that overlooks the main floor and a ledge with lighting that is easy for an small/active/curious child to climb on to. It is very dangerous. I have a 4 year old and was extremely vigilant the entire weekend.

Sweeping Ocean Views and Ultimate Relaxation
Sea Ranch is truly a beautiful area, remote but still with small town establishments close by. The house itself was just as described - clean, spacious, brand new kitchen, lots of amenities, and surrounded by nature. If anything could be improved, it would be the check-in process. It makes no sense to drive 10 minutes away to pick up keys from a box outside the Grand Welcome store when you could easily setup a lockbox at the house with the keys inside. That was a major inconvienience. Not to mention the bathtub was entirely too difficult to figure out how to turn on (and there were no instructions) plus the heating at the property was a bit wonky. It was 80 degrees when we entered and we discovered that if the fan is on it also produced heat. However, once we settled, it was absolutely lovely. We cooked many meals, went on lots of hikes and walks in the trees and by the water. There is a local winery about 15 minutes up the windy roads and the local restaurants were quite good too! It was very relaxing and we couldn't get over the ocean views from so many angles of the house. Would definitely stay here again.

Overall it was a pleasant stay because we love Sea Ranch and we wanted to offer our friends an unforgettable experience for their anniversary. The house is spacious. We like to cook so the kitchen furnishings were important to us. We found insufficient small China and chipped large plates. The pantry was nicely supplied with basic ingredients and spices. We had to give a scrub to a pot. The dining and bar chairs were stained and looked uninviting, not to say filthy. There were stains on the carpet. There were ants in the bathrooms. The garage door is defective and unlocked, it only operates manually. The bathrooms were furnished with clean towels and small soap bars, no shampoo, no conditioner, no lotion. The bed linens were clean. The pillows were too stiff for us. The grill on the deck was functioning. The view of the ocean is breathtaking. Except of the issues with cleanliness the stay was nice. Thank you for the opportunity to write the review.

The Views!
This was an awesome house, and as others have mentioned, the views are spectacular! Our main regret was not staying long enough...Especially with the late check in/early check out....The first/last days of the trip are essentially just travel. Otherwise, everything is as-advertised and awesome!!! We will definitely try to book this property again.

Amazing house but cheap management company
I love this house. The views are to die for and the property was super clean. However the management company leaves a lot to be desired. First of all you have to drive 15 minutes to get and drop off keys, which means you can’t check in until after 4 (closer to 430) and have to check out by 9:30. I asked for a late check out and they said it would be an additional fee. Then the house was not stocked with any basics—no shampoo, no olive oil, or anything. Pretty cheap for an expensive house to rent. Finally and most importantly, the only tub in the house wasn’t working. I called and they said someone would be out right away and they’d call back. No one did so I called back and they said due to Covid no one would fix it. I asked for a discount then and was again told someone would get back to me and no one did. Plus there is an additional pet fee I only learned of after booking. If this house were managed by different folks I’d give it five stars.

Beautiful home which was well equipped. Views are amazing. Home was clean, but this home has a major ant problem. Ants all over home, bathroom, dining area, bedroom. In fact ants were found in my sons bed, my dogs food and water. The mgnt company is aware of the problem and put out one small ant bait on a window ledge in the dining area, and it was old and full of ants. If not for the ants this would have been great.

Property was run down, dirty, and way overpriced
DO NOT RENT THIS PROPERTY.  We've stayed in The Sea Ranch for decades at several listings.  Each place we've stayed has been true to the description and we've never had a bad experience UNTIL THIS PROPERTY.   The pictures do not represent the property.  It was run-down and dirty.   We called to get our money back and were told "NO".   This place was not only "not properly cleaned according to Covid rules", the furniture, counter tops, bedding, appliances, etc...was below substandard, to say the least.  The appliances were mostly usable. Let me be clear, the issue is not with the cleaning service.  Although there were problems with spider webs, and crumbs all over.  My biggest concern is with the mis-representation by the Rental Company and the price gouging.     Grand Welcome WAY over priced the property on a holiday weekend to make money---as simple as that.    Shame on you GRAND WELCOME RENTALS IN SEA RANCH.  SHAME!!!!   The refrigerator was literally rusted inside and out.  The chairs tops were torn.  The bbq was UN USABLE with rust and a torn cover. The grounds were overgrown with no up keep at all! I  have over 30 pictures of the horror we encountered.  And when I say horror, I mean that.  This property was $426.00 per night.  In addition There was an owner fee for $349.00, Damage waiver fee of $99.00,  a cleaning fee of $250.00 and a service fee of $287.00.  So in addition to paying $1704.00 for four nights, VRBO charge an additional $985.00!   We never saw a real person from "The Grand Welcome Vacation Rentals" once we arrived at The Sea Ranch.  We had to picked up and dropped off the keys outside of the office. Please, DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY.  Also do not use "Grand Welcome" in Gualala!  They are a business who cares nothing about the renters experience.

Made reservations before Coronavirus restrictions
Thought we could “shelter in place” in Sea Ranch. Enjoying our rental until we went for walk on a trail and got stopped by a “resident “ that told us “we should not be there...putting residents lives at risk..wanted to know who rented to us...” Left early for fear we would get yelled at if we left the house.

Amazing Views
This was our first time renting in the hills on the east side of The Sea Ranch. We loved the ocean views and sunsets from up there as well as the sunrise behind the house. Lots of deer and wildlife to watch. The house was spacious and orderly. We really enjoyed our stay at Cloud 9.
