"The house was quite nice overall. A little disappointing that the woodstove didn't work, especially as the weather was cool and wet. The water is quite soft, but tastes good; and the water heater works fine. We spent a chilly first night as the baseboard heaters were set to 10C (50F), and the control buttons are really tiny and hard to notice. A heads up from the owner would have been helpful. It was plenty warm once I found the controls. The setting is beautiful, and the stairs down to the lake...

"If you are considering staying on Cape Breton - stop your search as this is your place! Of the many vacation rentals that we have experienced, this is by far the nicest rental from the property, surrounding, and owners/managers. The owners were on-site to attend to any issue, help start fires for marshmallows, light the wood-fired hot tubs and give directions to hikes, farm shares and fishmongers.
