"We booked to stay at Haus Saarland am Rennsteig. On arriving at the hotel we found it was closed and a notice telling us to go to another hotel, Hotel Thuringenschanze which was about 0.5km away. Since we had arrived by public transport we had to walk there with our luggage. On checking in at the new hotel we were not offered Oberhof guest cards. This meant that we were unable to obtain the guest card discount when we visited the nearby SkiHalle. We asked to stay an extra night. We paid...

"Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen und eignet sich für Besucher 60+, die gerne in vergangenen Zeiten schwelgen. Modern ist anders. Es liegt im Tal, ist daher ziemlich dunkel. "Super schöne Gegend (trotz nicht so tollen Wetter). Vermieter sehr freundlich, Haus liebevoll eingerichtet, zum wohlfühlen . Zum einkaufen benötigt man ein auto, ohne geht nicht viel. Schade,das Sehenswürdigkeiten im Ort geschlossen hatten. Fahren gerne wieder hin."
