Historic Home on Jones w/ Modern Updates and Great Backyard by Lucky Savannah

This three bedroom, two-and-a-half bath home is located on historic Jones Street, named America’s Prettiest Street by Southern Living Magazine. Originally two smaller cottages converted into one home, Savannah Selfies can sleep up to 10 Lucky guests, and is perfect for family gatherings or a girls weekend!

You’ll enter into a small foyer which is separated from the L shaped living area by a double sided, decorative fireplace. The living area features two separate seating areas, each with pops of color, and original hardwood floors. The spacious kitchen and dining area have both a large dining table and breakfast bar. The kitchen has direct access to the private backyard, where you’ll find a deck with a cozy seating area, a dining table and a grill.

Two of the three bedrooms are on the ground floor. The primary bedroom has a King sized bed, TV, writing desk, and en suite bath with double sinks and access to the backyard. The second bedroom is a cozy space with a comfortable Queen bed. The stunning staircase to the second floor adds a modern flare to the home. The upstairs loft has two separate spaces, one with a day bed and trundle, the other with two twin beds and an attached half bath.

Savannah Selfies is ideally located in walking distance to shops, restaurants and other area attractions. Simply stroll down beautiful Jones Street to Clary’s Cafe, featured in Midnight In the Garden of Good and Evil, and a favorite of locals and visitors alike. A few blocks away at the corner of Bull Street and Liberty, you’ll find local shops featuring everything from handmade handbags and leather goods at Satchel, to Celtic crosses at Saints & Shamrocks.

Great historic house
We spent a long weekend at the property for an overdue boys trip. The house fit 6 of us easily. The backyard was great (a little buggy so don’t forget the bug spray) so we spent a lot of time out there playing games. Would recommend!

Bachelorette Blast!

Lacking the small but essential things
Overall the property is great, however, we had one trash bag to use for the week and the pillows on the bed were small and very lumpy. I'd recommend bringing your own pillows and loading up on supplies like paper towels, decent toilet paper, etc. once you get to town.

Great Location
Needs some TLC on the exterior but the nice had all the charm! Beds were SO comfortable. I don’t know if I misread but I was expecting two more twin beds but we made due with the larger beds. The room with the queen must have a visitor because they would turn on the light during the night. Even with all that we would stay again. Nothing that we wanted to do or see was more than 0.5 miles! We did a lot, too.

We had 10 girls for the weekend and had to utilize the sleeper couch but don't let that turn you away. There is so much closet space downstairs! We enjoyed this home so much. There is plenty of seating in the living and kitchen area. All 10 of us were able to snuggle up on the couch and chairs to watch movies and talk. The only downside is the couch that is pictured on the back deck is not actually there. There is seating but I was so excited about that white couch!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is very old and needs a lot of up keep done to it that has been neglected. You can see daylight through the floor. The mosquitos were horrible and we all got bit up and could not enjoy the deck out back. We love Savannah but we all came home with bites all over us. We did have very good service while we were there and they were very responsive. We had a clogged drain on the down stairs bath tub and they came out right away to fix it. We also had broken the small TV upstairs and called right away and they were very gracious with us. The house is old and needs repairs done to it. My review is more based on the House and not Lucky Savannah Management.

I wanted to be close to the adventure that Savannah provides and stay within a budget. This house is within walking distance to anything and a shuttle service is available if needed. My husband and I decided to take a much needed family vacation. Our son, dau-in-law and grandson live in Florida. Our other children live close to us in WV. We haven't all been together for over 3 years. A house in a neutral area that was driving distance for all of us was a must. My Christmas gift wish was to have all my kids in the same place for a visit. It happened at this Savannah house. We cooked Thanksgiving dinner and enjoyed fellowship around the dinner table, we opened Christmas presents face to face instead of through the mail, we played together, walked together and explored together. Thank you to the owners for providing the means that my Christmas wish came true. The house was clean, open, and provided everything we needed to stay away from home. The manager/owner also met us downtown to take some informal family pictures for us. Amazing trip for me and my family.

Reviewer Comments: The home could use a little TLC and maintenance overall, but it didn't ruin our trip- we made a call about the A/C as soon as checked in and the management team sent someone right away. The management staff was very helpful and kind. The house overall accommodated our needs and supported our Marketing Meeting we were having just fine. We rented two homes beside each other which was very nice, but this home definitely wasn't selfie worthy. It accommodated 6 of us just fine but we had to share the larger showers because the one room upstairs had a very odd shower with an extremely short level shower head that took some major acrobatics to wash your hair if you're over 4 ft tall. But again, it didn't damper our trip outside of the rain, it would be nice if the back courtyard area had an enclosed area for rainy days. Outside of that the house did serve its purpose for us all. The fridge didn't fit the space so it was hard to open the door but again, didn't hinder the ability to slide things in and out. Beds were comfortable and kitchen and living space was very nice. Lots of space to spread out and enjoy each other during our meeting. Thank you for sharing your home with us! Oh and we had absolutely no problems with parking at all during our stay! It was an added benefit with the two spots behind the house!

Spacious and great location
This was the perfect spot for our friends reunion in late May. The neighborhood is gorgeous and it's a long walk/short car ride from some really nice spots in Savannah. Most of the beds were comfortable with the exception of a couple of the twins in the loft. The house was well air conditioned and there is a separate temperature control on each floor. The backyard area was peaceful for drinking coffee in the morning before the heat made being inside more relaxing.

The location is great and the neighborhood is quiet. Parking was always available. The historic house is 160 years old and could use some upkeep. The photos in the listing are old. The living space is laid out differently, but that isn’t an issue. The backyard patio only has one table with 5 chairs. No sofa or swing. We had to do a lot of cleaning to be able to use the grill. The upstairs areas don’t have any of the decorative touches that the photos show. The carpet could use to be replaced. The downstairs bathrooms could use a few rugs, especially the en-suite as the tile is old looking. That’s being said, everything was clean and we would rent this place again for all of the other positives.

Big House Needs TLC

Makes you wonder what's going on where you CAN'T see it. Good: Place was huge and accommodated our needs. Interior layout perfect for entertaining. Location was great, parking in the front or the back was plentiful. BAD: Pics show outdoor furniture and a swing which was part of our decision and there was only a table and some broken chairs. Water pressure in the main bathroom and kitchen sink is horrible. Only 1 small TV. Upstairs shower-shower head is so low, it's only for kids. Kitchen light has a short in the electrical switch and we were afraid the house would catch on fire on the last night. No ice maker in fridge and 1 1/2 trays to make ice.

Beautiful Fun Weekend
