Tucked away on Tattnall Street, Whippet house is a two-bedroom Savannah gem. Guests will enjoy the short walk to downtown's center, while having a private retreat in one of the city's oldest residential neighborhoods.

You’ll find the living room appointed with an eclectic yet warm collection of furnishings and decor from the owners' international travels. A formal dining room connects the front of house with the cheery kitchen, equipped with modern appliances and cookware for all your dine-in needs. Off the back of the home, you’ll find a private courtyard that comfortably seats four.

Both bedrooms are upstairs, each with their own full baths. The first bedroom has a Queen size bed and antique writing desk, while the second bedroom mirrors the first but with a King size bed and excellent views of historic Tattnall Street. With windows on either side of the home, Whippet House receives ample natural light during the day. Shutters and window treatments ensure privacy when wanted.

One block north lands you in Chatham Square, one of Savannah's gorgeous green spaces. Head east two blocks to historic Forsyth Park, known for its famous fountain and a popular location for weddings. Enjoy a liege waffle and latte at Mirabelle Cafe, before touring the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, located right across the street. Broughton Street, a hub of Savannah’s shopping, and River Street are only 10-15 minutes north from there, respectively.

Great location, cute home.
What we loved most about this house is the location and the ability to sit outside in the back. The weather was perfect to be outside and we enjoyed the outside every morning for breakfast and late at night for some late night cocktails. We walked just about everywhere. Only uber’ed once due to rain.

Wonderful place!
The property was very clean and inviting. We loved the decor and location. It’s a perfect set up for two couples. If you have a full size pick up truck, the reserved parking spot out back is a little tight. We were, however, able to find street parking out front. That’s not a complaint, just a heads up for anyone going. I highly recommend this property!

Great Spot
This rental was in the perfect location for us. We went down for the SCAD sidewalk festival. The rental was clean and very inviting. It could use a few updates to the paint and appliances but overall it has no effect on the house itself. The location was great, it was a mile walk to the River and close the park. The neighborhood was pretty quiet and all the neighbors were so friendly and inviting.

Savannah Sisters Trip - The Whippet House
We really enjoyed our stay at The Whippet House. The property was very comfortable, extremely clean, beautifully furnished, spacious with very nice amenities and in a great location for walking to local destinations with easy access to highways for several day trips outside of Savannah. It was actually easier to walk to local attractions in Savannah from the property instead of driving because parking can be difficult. There is a parking spot behind the property which was a big plus. We did day trips to Tybee Island, Hilton Head, Charleston and Beaufort along with exploring Savannah. We enjoyed our stay here and would absolutely recommend this property.

The placec was a good location, within walking distance of many things, if you don't mind walking. Parking spot for one car. Our only complaint was the linens for the pull out bed were in very poor condition, but they were replaced immediately after we made a phone call complaining.

Comfort in the heart of Savannah
Easy access good parking and felt safe. Stairs is something we not used to but we adapted The ice maker didn’t work there was a couple of ice trays 1 was good but the other was not. If there was more trays available it would have been better or get the ice maker repaired. Dealing with Lucky Savannah was easy and friendly. If we go back I would definitely reach out to them again. Satisfied with our stay Joe

Great property, frustrating neighbors ( right next door)
Great property, excellent location. However neighbors are really frustrating. We reached late to the property and with in 2 mins we settled down in the home. However, neighbors complained that we came late and made noise. If they can’t stand with that 2 mins moving luggage process to home, they shouldn’t be next to vacation home. So unless you are sure, you checkin before 5 pm, don’t try this home, you will end up receiving complaints from stupid neighbors.

It was in a wonderful location--close enough to walk to Savannah attractions but quieter than other area in the historic district. The beds and furnishings are comfortable and we were very happy to be able to bring our small dog. The kitchen is tiny, but everything worked well. The parking space in the back was an added bonus. The decor probably needs to be updated soon, as it was quite outdated. The home was not spotless but clean enough. We did kill one large roach while we were there.

We rented this property due to its location, which was very good, and the fact that it accepted dogs. The property would benefit greatly from a thorough overall deep cleaning - when wiping up small spills on the floors the cloth came away black, the bath tubs and shower curtains were truly disgusting, sinks were dingy - and a freshening up. Items mentioned months ago by guests still not addressed - the rails in the refrigerator are still broken, the dishwasher door still free falls open.

The Whippet House never disappoints!

The location alone is worth a an excellent rating - right in the middle of the historic district, with cobblestone streets lined with live oak heavy with spanish moss. You feel like you've gone back in time. The house is within walking distance of all restaurants and activities. My dogs love walking in Forsyth Park and it was a great way to start each day. The house is cozy and so comfortable and stocked with everything you could want. Parking on the street is a breeze and there is an assigned parking space at the back. We had a "personal challenge" during our stay and the people at Lucky Savannah - Zack, Kendall and an amazing maintenance crew - could not have been more understanding, prompt and professional. I cannot say enough about the Whippet House, the location and Lucky Savannah. Highly recommend it and we will be back next year.

I brought my family with me and this place was well equipped to handle all four of us with the pull-out couch in the living room. The house was very clean and very inviting. You can tell it is a bit older of a home, but that did not cause any issues. Because this was a work trip we did not cook as much but we did like having the kitchen for small needs. The staff was incredible. They were quick to respond and even gave us some great suggestions for restaurants when I asked. When we checked in we noticed that we had a remote control for one of the TVs missing and they were super quick to get us another one and made it convenient to our schedule to deliver it. Great job communicating. I would definitely stay with this group again and even in this house again. Thank you!

Savannah - Right Near Forsythe Park!!

Reviewer Comments: The property itself is close to the “touristy” areas – very walkable, actually. The house is definitely a “blast from the past!” Filled with vintage artwork, furniture and Oriental rugs covering the original hardwood floors, it was reminiscent of a walk back in time to the 18th century. Parking on the street is very limited; however, there is a reserved parking spot in the alley behind the home that leads into a tiny, but private outdoor seating area. This steers you into the backdoor kitchen entrance which was small and in dire need of updated appliances and electrical outlets. Specifically, the refrigerator door shelf holders were both broken. The entire home needs a top to bottom 21st century make-over but overall, the home was comfortable and did the job.

The attached duplex was pounding on our walls at 6:00PM, knocking on our door multiple times during the day. If our baby(13months) cried they would pound on the walls. It was a beautiful house but the neighbors harassed us.
