"Perfect example of not judging based on pictures. While the rooms are dated they are immaculate. Not a stray hair or spec of dust in our room. Excellent service and friendly staff. The AC issue did bother us and the room had a closed off smell. Lovely view and enjoyable breakfast buffet. Plus all their power is sourced from solar and a screen near the elevators shows the solar array power generation which is an added benefit for green energy nerds."

"I stayed 2 nights and don't normally stay in hostels any more but there was very limited options in the area. There are lots of pluses- very clean, tidy, well organised, nice Japanese style futon room was comfortable, desk, hanging space, good wifi, good kitchen facilities, free laundry, 2 ladies showers for the hostel but I didn't have to wait at all. 2 toilets for hostel and didn't have to wait there either. However the downside is always the lack of consideration by other guests who talk...

"The hotel is conveniently located near the JR station and the bus terminal. However, the room was rather small, and more like a Japanese "business hotel". The price was a little expensive, given the quality of the room. Breakfast was very average, and the selection limited. Hokkaido is a centre for dairy products and well known for its butter, but the buffet only offers margarine. "

"We enjoyed every second at Heart’n Tree and around. Sashiko made our stay very pleasant. She’s a good cook and she gave us a lot of good advices on where/when to go to get the best viewing spots. "

"The hosts Haruka and Hidenori were a fantastic, friendly couple - so helpful and welcoming. The housekeeper, Aya, was also very helpful, even though her English was limited. Their place is clean and very nicely decorated. For travelers with a vehicle it is a good choice. Without a car, the bus situation is a bit of a challenge as the bus into the centre is not frequent so you really need to plan your itinerary carefully. "

"Amazing modern, clean room with a comfortable bed! The staff were lovely. In a central area that is very walkable (5-10 mins walk) to the famous nusumai bridge, suehiro bar district and train/bus station. Free drinks (coffee, orange juice, tea, tequila, sake) in the lobby and lots of free amenities and rental items (e.g. a vacuum for your car)! This was the best hotel I have stayed in and for such an amazing price!! I couldn’t have asked for more and would stay again!"
