"It is really a superb hotel. In Matera to be able to sleep in a room "cave" is quite special. The room #5 is large and had everything we needed except a big mirror. The only one was a small square one in the open bathroom above the lavabo and the lighthening was more romantic then useful there! I know it is not the same in every room as every room has a special design and decoration. The reception and the breakfast room are also beautiful. "If you’re looking to stay in the heart of the Historic Center, this is your place. Be prepared to walk over rocky roads and go up and down the road stairs, which is not bad if you want to exercise a little bit while vacationing. Room was a little too small for my taste but very clean and comfortable. View from my room window was incredible! Hotel doesn’t offer parking (paid or free). You need to find a paid parking spot on the nearby streets (around $10 Euros for 10 hours). Breakfast was good."

"The cava is exactly as shown and described online. The view from the terrace looks directly into the Sassi. The location can’t be beat, it’s right near the old city and new City so you have a central location to see everything. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioner works great on a hot day. Our hosts were amazing. They provided us a lovely breakfast of fresh tarts, pastries, meats, yogurts, and milk/cereals. They even left us local wine to enjoy at home and suggested several tours....
