Restored Historic Saranac Lake Home: Lake Access!

Vacation the way Rockefeller, Whitney and US Presidents did during the golden age of Adirondack Great Camps. Lady Tree is now available after renovation to its original grandeur. This rustic camp offers a tranquil space to unwind and over 400 feet of lakefront. Enjoy swimming, paddling and fishing right outside the door or relax on the dock surrounded by beauty. With the Adirondack Mountains as your playground and this waterfront property as your home base, life doesn’t get any better!

Bedroom 1: Queen Bed with Ensuite Bathroom | Bedroom 2: Queen Bed with Ensuite Bathroom | Bedroom 3: 2 XL Twin Beds | Bedroom 4: 4 Twin Beds | Bedroom 5: 2 XL Twin Beds

This exclusive residence received the AARCH 2016 Preservation Award for outstanding efforts in historic preservation and was placed on both the NY State and National Registers of Historic Places. Built in 1896, it was home to famous historical figures and hosted events that included President Grover Cleveland and many other dignitaries of that era.

Sited on a bluff, surrounded by towering trees, you'll immediately experience a sense of calm when approaching this 5-acre private retreat. Enjoy awe inspiring views of Upper Saranac Lake and distant mountains from the two porches and dock. The serene setting provides everything you want. Many people come to enjoy the peaceful seclusion and simply never leave the compound until it’s time to go home.

400 feet of private lake frontage boasts a clear shallow sandy bottom. Handrailed steps provide safe and easy access to the water. Four kayaks, a canoe, paddle board, fishing gear, and water toys are stored at the boathouse. The boathouse deck is also the perfect spot for a quiet cup of morning coffee where you’ll watch the mist rise before the sun’s rays begin to glisten on the lake.

The expansive and level lawn, rarely obtainable in the Adirondacks, overlooks the lake and is perfect for sports or just relaxing and admiring the expansive views. Badminton, croquet, and horseshoes can be set up in the spacious green yard.

Step inside the 5000 square-foot house and be impressed by authentic architectural details, high ceilings, wood paneled walls, comfortable furnishings, and views of the lake and woods throughout. The home offers 3 separate living areas, 2 with masonry fireplaces and one with a 65-inch Smart TV.

The spacious, modern kitchen comes fully equipped with stainless steel appliances and plenty of cooking tools to whip up a gourmet meal. There’s ample elbow room for multiple chefs to collaborate and others to gather around the island to chat and sip wine. Then enjoy your meal in the grand dining room at a gracious table which comfortably seats 10.

Outdoor dining is available on the stone patio where the gas grill will please all barbeque lovers. As the sun descends in the sky, light a fire in the nearby fire pit to roast marshmallows and recap the day's adventures.

The cozy bedrooms are welcome retreats after fun filled days. Drift off to sleep in organic cotton sheets, listening to the loons and waking up refreshed. Stroll the grounds with a cup of morning coffee while enjoying the activity of colorful hummingbirds, woodpeckers, goldfinches, monarch butterflies, and even a bald eagle!

The property also features a brand new electric car charging station!

-- THE LOCATION --

A wide variety of family activities is within easy driving distance of Lady Tree. The towns of Saranac Lake, Lake Placid and Tupper Lake offer museums, live theatre, movie theatres, art galleries, the Adirondack Carousel, mini golf, farmer’s markets, and many dining and shopping opportunities.

The vast wilderness of the Adirondacks is at your doorstep, offering limitless opportunities to hike, paddle, bike, or wander through nature and encounter spectacular views.

Simply Incredible
This property is absolutely amazing. It has everything... a beautiful home, ultra modern kitchen, canoes and kayaks, and a huge waterfront property. The historic restoration is amazing, stunning and every room is oversized. The 400' of sandy bottom waterfront with crystal clear water was spectacular. We took our whole family to celebrate our 50th anniversary, and kids from 5 to 15 had a blast. We rented a Sunfish and power boat, cooked marshmallows at the fire pit, and enjoy cocktails while sitting in Adirondack chairs gazing across 3 miles of lake to distant mountains. Saw the Milky Way at night, and saw and listened to loons. Property manage was always helpful and our only regret is that we only rented this piece of history for a week.

Wonderful
Fantastic, beautifully restored Great Camp with everything one could want for an Upper Saranac Lake vacation. Large bedrooms, modern bathrooms, extensive kitchen, multiple living room areas, including a “great room” with fireplace. Outside fire pit which we used most evenings, dock for you boat, boathouse with kayaks and paddle boards, etc. And those wonderful decks both upstairs and down for spectacular lake views. We had a great time with our family. Thanks to the owner for an easy, efficient rental process! 5 Stars across the board!

Fantastic Week on Upper Saranac
Lady Tree is a large, stately old camp, beautifully and recently redone by the owners. The house is clean and airy with lots of large windows and the kitchen is large and open. There are a lot of outdoor spaces to sit and relax, but we spent most of the time on the porch or the dock. The water is about 3 or 4 feet near the dock and drops off further out. We rented a boat for the week and had no trouble docking it. We are already planning our return for next year.

Perfect retreat in Upper Lake Saranac
This property is absolutely amazing. The house is gorgeous and in absolutely pristine condition. The property has everything there is to do and more - relax on the dock taking in the gorgeous view, swim in the clear and warm lake, kayak, canoe or paddle board around the lake, play lawn games with your family, or enjoy a cocktail on one of the covered porches. We did all of those things and more and loved every minute of it.

Stunning, well appointed, history steeped home on the perfect Adirondack lake
This is our 4th trip to the Adirondacks from Los Angeles and our 2nd to Upper Saranac Lake. Having "looked around" a bit, I can unequivocally say- this spectacular home sets the GOLD Standard for location, amenities, and the immersive Adirondack experience. The unique furnishings, the artwork, and the quality appointments make you feel as if you stepped back a century, yet the home does not feel like a museum at all; every room is very warm and inviting. The kitchen is so well appointed, it makes it fun to cook on vacation. :) All of the appliances are new, top quality. The grounds are incredible, including an expansive lawn, a great fire pit- barbecue grill area, and a "hidden" boathouse. A pair of loons hang out just beyond the dock; their iconic calls provide the perfect soundtrack for sunrises and sunsets. The various bird feeders on the property attract colorful songbirds and local fauna. The Upper Saranac Lake water is crystal clear and surprisingly warm in Summer (thanks to being relatively shallow) - but I think one of my fave things is the lake out front. I've rented several lakefront vacation homes in various states. This is the first lake home I've ever rented that has 400 feet of sandy shoreline. No squishy mud between your toes. None. Perfect for guests of all ages. The kayaks and the canoe are top quality (and boy did we use them!) . The beds are extremely comfortable with top quality linens. The area offers great day hikes and some cool culinary treats like the famous Donnelly's ice cream and the nearby Traders Post - a general store that offers the most delicious doughnuts and scones - IF you get there early enough in the morning before they sell out. All of these elements combined, make Lady Tree Lodge the quintessential Adirondack experience. We love this home so much, we're already plotting our return.

A Great GREAT CAMP
Lady Tree lodge is a restored Great Camp on Upper Saranac lake. The accommodations and amenities are first class with every thing you need to enjoy your stay. The view of the lake and mountains is breathtaking. Just remember the lodge does not have air conditioning but because of its location on the lake and the large number of windows it does not need it. I have rented many homes in the Adirondacks on many different lakes and this is the best rental I have stayed at.
