When you need to get away from everything but still be just a couple of miles to fabulous shopping & dining.
Cabin located in Sapphire in a very quiet, private neighborhood. If you want an area to unplug and relax this is your place. We are just a short drive to many waterfalls, gorgeous hikes, and water activities. We are 3 miles to Sapphire Resort where there is an indoor/ outdoor pool. Zip lines, putt putt, fitness center, Skiing, sledding during the Winter months. As members of Sapphire Valley Resort we allow you to use our guest passes if you let us know when you book. The resort charges a small fee.

4 kayaks are at the dock ready for you to explore the lake.
Fishing in the stocked lake is popular bring your own pole & bait. Get a permit in town. 2 decks to enjoy the view of nonmotorized Hogback Lake.

We keeps prices low because renters take care of the small stuff if anything comes up.
We are 6 miles to the crossroads in Cashiers with outdoor concerts all summer, local shops, breweries and tasty food. If you want to go to beautiful downtown Brevard just 19 miles away. Laid back town with amazing shops, breweries & farmers market. We are 17 miles to downtown Highlands. World class dining, spas and shopping.
Some favorites outdoor spots are Whitewater Falls, Gorges State Park & Whiteside Mtn.
Check in at 4, check out at 10. The cleaning crew will arrive promptly at 10.
We need to pre approve bringing a dog to alert the cleaning crew. $75 charge per dog. No dogs on furniture or cleaning crew will charge additional fees. Must crate when away from the cabin. No cats allowed due to allergies.

Great stay on the lake
Every bit of the process was smooth. easy check in, all the needed bits and pieces were available in the cabin. My kiddos had a great time fishing and kayaking in the lake. Overall Great Trip!

quick ski trip
The house is absolutely charming and quite spacious. Had everything this family of 6 needed. Love the master on main with additional bedrooms upstairs. The 2 full baths was what sealed the deal for us! and the price and location COULD NOT BE BEAT! We appreciated the supply of games and the multiple porches. We appreciated the labels on the light switches but could have used more! That was our biggest issues, finding the right light switches! So obviously, we didn't have any issues, we just had a lovely time.

Great location for a week in the mountains.
This cozy two story house sits on a hill overlooking a lake. It was in a beautiful location & quite private. Nice decorations throughout the home & All the beds were very comfy. A nice plus-a large fire pit! Would like to visit again when we can.

Great stay in a comfy cabin!
We stayed with out children who are 11, 4, and 3. The kids loved the cabin and the amenities. We hit the beach or pool almost everyday and enjoyed the doc in the afternoon. Great kitchen with lots of extras needed to cook ( lots of pots and pans etc ) overall had a lovely stay. Would definitely recommend !

Fabulous Weekend at a Comfortable Cabin by a Lake
We were looking for a peaceful, comfy place to stay in the NC mountains, and this place was just that and more. The house was roomy and tastefully decorated and the natural surroundings were lush and beautiful! We had a short set of stairs down to the dock on a lovely small lake with 3 kayaks - one for each of us. There was a great deck in the back off the living room that looked over the lake, and a fire pit in the front yard. The house's location made it easy to drive to Cashiers and Highlands for shopping and restaurants and the kitchen was well enough equipped so that we could cook some meals at home too. Wonderful Cottage
Had the most wonderful time! Only 1 tiny snafu at check in (some miscommunication on the code - agency's fault, not the owner's). Once the owner was made aware, it was resolved quickly. (Owner was super nice!) We (me, hubby, 15 yo boy, 12 yo boy, our dog) spent the long weekend kayaking (provided!), fishing (off our own dock!), hiking (waterfalls!), relaxing (2 decks!), making s'mores by the campfire (firepit!) and just having a blast. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Great location, too! We will be back.

What an awesome view of the lake !
We loved it and had the best time ever ! Especially loved building a fire in the fire pit, roasting mallows,making s’mores ! The house has a really nice deck with water views, rocking chairs I loved ! A balcony upstairs off of a bedroom screened in with foosball table water views ,really nice. Great value for your money ! Thanks for sharing your home with us.! We’ll be back !

Unfortunately, the first impression of this property was that it was somewhat rundown. Cleaning the front porch area would go a long way. When stepping inside, there was a musty smell - not good for asthma/allergy sufferers. The inside was clean and the back verandas were great. I think this could be a great place if a little more effort in cleaning up around the outside was taken.

We enjoyed our stay and basically lived on the porch. The only problem I had was when the owner did not respond appropriately to our first problem. After we had a second problem , he responded and came by to fix them. It was pretty much as described and we learned to enjoy all the amenities of the house and area.

My husband,2 dogs and myself went for a birthday/anniversary getaway The house was beautiful, clean, well furnished and very comfortable. The beds were excellent,we slept like rocks after hiking and gem mining during the day. The best part was the peace, just sitting on the porch and relaxing.The host was wonderful, always available if we had a question, thank you for sharing this wonderful place! We would definitely recommend staying here again and again!!

Relaxing Get-a-way in beautiful area
Very comfortable home, great for our family. We enjoyed sitting out on the huge deck, and kayaking on the lake. We did nearby hikes to waterfalls and Whiteside summit. Well stocked kitchen. Good Wifi. Definitely treat yourself to Slabtown Pizza!

Perfect choice for our reunion
I rented this property for a reunion with two old friends and am so glad I did. This simple but comfortable house on a beautiful mountain lake was the perfect choice. The house was clean, the owners very responsive and helpful. We loved the lake which is full of bass, and the location perfectly convenient to Whiteside (both mountain and brewery) and Panthertown Valley. The internet worked great and the deck overlooking the lake was a welcome hangout in the evenings.

A quiet place in the woods
This was our first time renting a property thru VRBO. The property was in a quiet neighborhood and although we saw lights on in several of the other nearby cabins, we didn’t hear any of the neighbors. If you are looking for a quiet place to unwind, this cabin should fit your needs.

Perfect Lakeside Getaway
I went to the cabin in Sapphire recently with a few of my friends from work and we had a wonderful stay. The beds were super comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, the TV had HD sports at night, and we spent hours kayaking and fishing on the lake. It is as advertised, a no frills cabin nestled perfectly in the mountains. The fire pit out front is quite a nice touch, particularly as we were there on one of the nicest days of the year so far. I would recommend this cabin to any family or group looking to get out into the woods but not surrender all of the comforts of home.

Lake house Retreat
We had an awesome Birthday celebration at the lake house. We fished off the dock, took the Kayaks out, enjoyed views of the lake while having dinner from Slab Town Pizza and local brews from Whiteside Brewery. Cabin is centrally located, perfect lake house getaway from the hustle and bustle and getting back to nature.

Great guys' weekend. The cabin was just as described -- peaceful, beautiful setting, flat driveway, easy access. Enjoyed a local hike and campfire in the fire ring. We will definitely be back.
