Vinho e floresta Laurissilva, Casa do Lanço II

Casa do Lanço is part of a vineyard property of about 25,000m2 and is located in a transition zone between the Laurissilva forest and the agricultural lands of São Vicente. On the terraces of the vineyard, we can see the Tinta Negra Mole and Verdelho grape varieties, these grape varieties that produce the famous Madeira Wine.

The property is in a group of houses with several hundred-year-old trees, with a large oak tree dating back over 250 years and several endemic Laurissilva species such as tis, vinháticos, barbusanos and laurels.

The house has a simple, country and functional decoration. The property features a double bedroom; a small room with sofa and a bathroom.

Inside the property you can enjoy a walk along the stream, the gardens or the backyard outside, which allows you to have breakfast (not included), made every morning by the home keeper.

During your stay you can participate in the process of viticulture or purchase the wines available in the house.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD OVERVIEW
The house is situated in the northern part of the island, more precisely in the Rosário, parish of the county of São Vicente. Because it is in a more secluded area, you will not find any kind of shops in the vicinity of the property. A ten minutes drive from the village of São Vicente, there you will find local shops, restaurants, supermarket and pharmacy.

In the vicinity of the house you have access to several trails and levadas, where you can enjoy walking and exploring on foot our fantastic island.

If you want to find other places or activities, the city of Funchal is 45 minutes away by car.

GETTING AROUND
We recommend the private transfer service as the best option to get to the house. Contact us in advance to schedule a private transfer car with our local partners. It is cheaper than taking a taxi by your own in the airport!

OTHER OBSERVATIONS

● According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (E.g. passport, identity card).

● Check-in must be scheduled in advance. In case the check-in is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours prior arrival, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.

● All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also provide a crib, a baby high chair and a baby bathtub if needed. First aid kit, fire extinguisher and fire blanket are available in all properties.

● Cleaning services during the stay, as well as the replacement of bed linen, towels, and consumables, are carried out on a weekly basis. If you wish extra cleaning service this can be arranged at an extra, affordable charge. The weekly cleaning and the replacement of bed linen, towels, and consumables will not be carried out for stays of less than seven nights.

ATTENTION
Please note that the property does not have a laundry room for guests to use. However, we do offer a laundry service on request, carried out by our cleaning team. For more details or to book this service, please contact us during your stay.

Peaceful Location on the North Coast
Quiet, clean, in the middle of forest and agriculture. Manager Linda was helpful in providing us with kitchen items lacking in the property. She also provided a lovely fruit basket and some food staples on arrival that were most welcome as well as giving us a contact for a taxi transfer.

Beautiful Casa in great location to explore the island
We had a fantastic time at this lovely villa up in the cloudy hills. The north side of the island is very green with stunning views. The kitchen is well equipped and internet works fast. Hope to return one day Loved it!

Leider nicht wie erwartet
Wie wurden leider bereits direkt bei der Ankunft enttäuscht, da wir laut der Beschreibung und den Fotos von einem Ferienhaus ausgegangen sind, das einem Einfamilienhaus entspricht. Das Haus hatte allerdings zwei Eingänge und somit haben wir uns das Haus mit einer anderen Partei geteilt (räumliche Trennung gegeben). Wir haben Lanco II gebucht und sind morgens immer an den Fenstern unserer Nachbarn von Lanco I entlanggegangen. Die auf den Fotos abgebildete Terrasse gehört zu Lanco I, zumindest richtet sich das Wohnzimmerfenster von Lanco I auf diese Terrasse, sodass, untergebracht in Lanco II, leider keine Möglichkeit zum gemütlichen draußen Sitzen besteht. Das fanden wir sehr schade, weil wir im Sommer gerne draußen frühstücken und diese Unterkunft u.a. deswegen gebucht haben. Sowohl die Beschreibung des Inserats als auch die Fotos sind somit nicht eindeutig der Unterkunft „Lanco II“ zuzuordnen, was sehr unglücklich ist. Unter diesen Umständen hätten wir diese Unterkunft nämlich gar nicht gebucht. Ansonsten ist bei einem solchen Arrangement nicht unerheblich, dass man gut mit den Nachbarn auskommt. Wir sind uns zum Glück meistens nicht in die Quere gekommen, aber zwei Tage lang roch unsere Unterkunft sehr unangenehm, weil unsere Nachbarn irgendetwas Geruchsintensives gekocht haben. Dem Gesamtaufenthalt ist es zumindest nicht dienlich, wenn die Bewohner ihre Unterkunft wegen des Gestanks morgens Hals über Kopf verlassen müssen und nachts nicht schlafen können. Ansonsten verfügt die Wohnung über alle wesentlichen Ausstattungsmerkmale. Das Wohnzimmer ist leider etwas dunkel und das Bad empfanden wir auch als sehr enttäuschend. Es war dunkel und feucht und die Klobrille war beschädigt (rutschte hin und her, wenn man sich darauf gesetzt hat). Es gibt zwei kleine Hunde auf dem Anwesen, die die Terrasse für ihre Geschäfte nutzen. Ansonsten gibt es in der Nachbarschaft viele Hunde, sodass die ganze Zeit ein Hundegebell zu hören ist. Da wir allerdings immer unterwegs waren, hat uns das wenig gestört. Die Lage ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt, um in alle Teile der Insel zu gelangen, erfordert allerdings einen Mietwagen. Zu Fuß ist auf die Schnelle kein Restaurant und auch kein Supermarkt zu erreichen. Dafür nach einer ca. 10-minütigen Autofahrt.
