The home is situated in a residential area right by the airport. While you can hear planes, there is not enough activity to be bothersome. Philip provided assistance with getting to the property, and was responsive to all needs and questions. The property was exactly as listed. The pool is large. Being on the mid-eastern side of the island, the area is quiet, but still just a short drive to the more commercial and tourist areas. Renting a car is highly recommended, but be aware that Google maps does not always differentiate between roads and walkways! The town of Monilithos is great. It is quiet and there is a hotel, restaurants, a family beach with fishing, volleyball and basketball courts, and a small grocery/convenience store - all within a short walk from the home. Note: the beach is rocky, so consider water shoes and maybe a couple of beach towels. If you forget them, they are available at the convenience store. After a busy day touring the island, you can decide to grill at the house and relax by the pool! We did not have any issues with water pressure or temperature for showering, despite reading that water can be an issue. You do, however, have to purchase bottled water for drinking. There are two bedrooms on upper level, each with a double bed and one full bath. There is one bedroom with a double bed and pullout on the main level, along with the sitting area that has the large sectional. The full bath on the main level is rather small. There is also a washer and a rack to air dry clothes. Air conditioning worked well, WIFI was provided and you could watch cable/internet programs on the large TV on the main level. Local channels were available on the bedroom TVs. Ultimately, if you are coming to Santorini with family, and would like the option to feel like you have the conveniences of “home away from home”, you should consider renting this property.
