For positives, it is mostly very tranquil. We loved the view from our room and thought the breakfast and staff was really nice. I saw complaints about the juice but it is fresh without sugar added. It’s definitely not “bad.”
You are about a 7 minute walk from the river and 15 minutes from the town. I don’t recommend for people with any kind of walking challenges as the walk would be very hard if possible at all.
The downsides are that this is more of a glamping experience and less of a hotel experience. Things to be away of is the floor having huge gaps that expose you to the outdoors. We didn’t bring any food into our room and only ate in town, yet we were waking up with ants and other bugs in our bed and crawling on us. There is not hot water (which is a lot of places) but worst of all the shower is moldy and broken. We were only there for 3 days and I am thankful because the closest I got to a shower was swimming in the river every day. There was a day where you could smell sewage as well through the slats but it ended after about 20 minutes. The pool and hot tub were both out of order, but are still included in the photos of the property. I don’t know if this is a dry season thing or just while we were there, but we also didn’t see it being worked on either. As mentioned, the surrounding hotels/hostels sometimes play music very, very loud and late into the night. It turns the peaceful tranquil surroundings into an absolute nightmare as there is no soundproofing.
