Cycle tourism and photographic tourism: It is a concept of modern and romantic tourism at the same time, it is a new model that could not fail to come from a region that makes tourism an art. Travelers, explorers of the territory looking for unique landscapes and special food and wine experiences to then sit in silence, in front of a panorama that seems to come out of a medieval fresco, enjoying a great Brunello or Chianti and Cinta Senese ham. This is the magical conclusion: Wine and Tours, lovers of photography and hunters of new and unedited tastes that want to live an adventure outside the box. Nature photography in the magical Tuscan landscape; you can photograph animals, plants, vineyards, flowers, the sea, the rocks, beaches, islands, sunrise and sunset.

Beautiful and well-preserved medieval buildings, breathtaking views of unspoiled nature, traditional dishes and local wines, if these are some of the things you are looking for when organizing your holiday in Tuscany, you can do much more by visiting Santa Luce. The municipality of Santa Luce in fact has all this and is located only 27 km south-west of Pisa, which means that it can also be used safely as a base for visiting this famous Italian city.
Santa Luce still retains the remains of the medieval fortress. The town maintains the layout of the ancient feudal village intact: the built-up area, which follows the line of the fortifications, tightens in circles around the space from which the castle dominated the valley. Among the most valuable attractions, the Romanesque parish church (in the hamlet of Pieve di Santa Luce), the wildlife oasis of Lake Santa Luce, the alabaster eco-museum (part of a museum network that also involves Volterra and Castellina Marittima) and the uninhabited village of Monteforti, with the remains of the Sanctuary of the Madonna (once the most important in the area).
With its picturesque location on the shore of a protected lake, Santa Luce is certainly one of the most peaceful and relaxing destinations in Tuscany. You won't find crowds of tourists, crowded bars or discos frequented here, but if you are trying to 'get away from it all', you have certainly chosen the right destination.
Eating local food and tasting local drinks is usually what many tourists who go to this region plan to do and a holiday in Santa Luce is indicated because it offers you the ideal opportunity to taste the many delicacies of Tuscan cuisine. Olive oils, jams, wines, citrus fruits, honey and pasta are just a few examples of what can be purchased at farmers' shops or premises and what is usually used in recipes. If you prefer to taste some other delicacies, you can find numerous high quality restaurants around Santa Luce.
A great way to move from Santa Luce, in Tuscany, is to cycle. This means of transport can be hired inside the village, and will allow you to discover many other things about this beautiful region than would happen if you went on foot. If you are planning longer trips, however, the use of a car is a necessity in this rural part of Italy.
The local region is famous for its thermal baths and its spas, and an excellent example of these is the nearby Casciana Terme. Santa Luce is also an ideal destination for those who love golf.
The area around Pisa is chock full of interesting places to visit during your stay in Santa Luce. The village of Chianni, which is 22 km away, is undoubtedly a great choice for a relaxing day trip thanks to its excellent restaurants, traditional activities and unspoiled landscapes. Pisa itself, famous for its majestic leaning tower, can be reached by car in less than 45 minutes.
The best months for a visit to Santa Luce are June, July and August. The average temperature in these months is 27C, although it is possible that it can even reach 30C. From September the rains begin to increase, but the temperatures remain high (October and November are generally the rainiest months of the year).
Galileo Galilei International Airport (PSA) is the main airport when staying in Santa Luce, as it is only 43 kilometers from the destination.
