We are an older couple and had stayed at a more rustic resort a little nearer the port before moving to Marlins. Had a beach front room 32 ground floor , the nearest the sea.. almost new inside! Had things the 1st resort didn't. Quiet spot AC, hot water in sink, shower a lot more powerful, better lights, mirrors, tea/coffee making . Good buffet breakfast, better beach. Beach gets better further from the port and for swimming is best nearer the sandbar 4 mins away. Has ferry shuttle and only couple minutes walk to restaurants. Staff helpful and can arrange Island hopping from beach in front. Would definitely recommend!
Only downside was the transport arranged to get back to airport. Driver was in his old maroon van and did not look for us after we got of ferry. Found him by accident! Within a few minutes driving he was texting on phone and answering calls ...no hands free. Wife asked him to stop whilst he was talking on phone. He did not like that and continued to drive in a very jerky manner for the rest of the 3 hour trip. He pulled into a petrol station and demanded his 3500 fare. We thought for buying petrol but he just pulled out and continued. When at the airport he just stopped and sat in his seat with engine running, whilst we struggled with our bags. So rude and not a good end to a great holiday. Fellow traveler at marlins only paid 2500 after haggling with taxi driver at airport. Beware! But Marlins was a great experience!
