Nearby
The location of the villa is peaceful and private, yet with the benefits of having a great range of facilities 550m away, within easy walking distance. Here you will find a variety of cafés, restaurants, a small supermarket and grocery store.
A little further up, 1.2 Km away, just above the motorway access are two large branded supermarkets and some other large retail shops.
You can take the local pathways down to the headland where you have the 'Cristo Rei' - Statue of Christ, and below it the pebble beach of Garajau, (accessed by cable car in the summer) and offers sea bathing, changing rooms and a lovely sea front bar and restaurant. Just a few minutes' walk is the bus stop with a regular service to the capital Funchal, only 10 minutes away. The Palheiro Golf Course is also close by, just 10 minutes by car.

To secure your reservation we require a 30% deposit, or the full amount if you are arriving within 8 weeks. The balance is due 8 weeks prior to arrival.
A security deposit of 300€ is required by credit card up.
Final details for check-in and driving instructions to the property will be sent 7 days prior to arrival. A contact number will be provided, and to be able to access the property, you need to phone this number as you are leaving the airport. It is your responsibility to contact and advise the number provided on the check-in details to advise any delays to the expected check-in time.
Check-in times - at the property - are between 16H00 and 19H00. For Sunday arrivals and out of hours check-in, alternative arrangements will be made and an additional cost will apply.
Check-in and check-out flexibility will be applied where possible, but this will depend on housekeeping schedules and the departure and arrival days of other reservations either side of your stay; a definitive answer can only be provided within 24 hours of your arrival for check-in and your departure for check-out.

Leaving the airport take the dual carriageway in the direction of Funchal (road known as the Via Rápida).
At approximately 10.9kms you need to leave the motorway at junction 15, sign posted to GARAJAU
Turn left towards GARAJAU.
Take your first road on your right side called “Rua Eugénio Brandão de Melo”
Follow this road for approximately 500 meters until you reach a crossroad.
Villa Aquarela is the house ahead of you, on the corner on the right side of the road (this is a dead end road).
