Quiet roomy house in Santa Clara
Seven family members from around the country stayed at this home to attend my mother's memorial service. Overall we were pleased with our stay. The house is very roomy and was able to accomodate everyone (one person slept on the sofa; extra sheets and blankets were provided). A very big plus is that it is in a quiet, lovely neighborhood in Santa Clara. Safeway is close by so we could shop for groceries. There is a pleasant attractive back yard with patio table and chairs. We were able to use the garage. When we had an issue with a needed repair, the host repsonded quickly. I made a few suggestions to improve the property even more. There is a complicated built-in microwave which didn't work. There were no bedside table lamps (maybe one in a bedroom I didn't use); for someone who likes to read in bed that was definitely a downside and if I had anticipated that I would have brought a small reading light. The kitchen had large and small plates, bowls, silverware, wine glasses and coffee cups. We could not find any water glasses, though the host said there "should have been some". There were different sized pans, basic cooking utensils and chef's knives. A coffee machine, electric kettle for hot water and toaster are provided. I suggested to the host that he may want to provide a bottle opener and corkscrew. I am not a fan of memory foam pillows and new ones were provided in all the bedrooms. So if that's an issue for someone you might want to bring your own pillow.
