Charming 3 bedroom home on the New River

C and J Cottage is located in the New River Gorge National Park, the newest national park. There is access to Sandstone Landing's patio alongside the New River, just a short walk down river from the home. The home is a fully furnished home with outdoor seating, a fire pit, and a beautiful river front view. It is a great starting point for exploring all the beautiful sites and attractions that southern West Virginia and the New River Gorge have to offer or a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxing stay on the river.
To get to the home, you will go across railroad tracks, we are near the railroad tracks. It is in a small, friendly neighborhood. You can walk to Sandstone General Store and Eatery to get any necessities you may have forgotten for your trip or get a meal.
If you plan to fish, there is also a bait and tackle store. Be sure to have a WV fishing license to be able to fish, though. The Sandstone public river access is right by the house. You may see people going to the river at the public river access as well as people putting their boats in the river.
An extra that we provide our guests is access to the Sandstone Landings patio on the river, this is a shared space with our Sandstone Landings guests. It is just a short walk down river from the home. The upper level of the patio is equipped with a dining table and chairs. Lower level of patio has outdoor furniture to enjoy the river view or to sit in while you fish in the New River.

Peaceful Riverside Retreat
This stay was practically perfect in every way. Bracketed by a small waterfall and the New River, it was a relaxing spot to spend a long weekend. The hosts were wonderful - and added lots of little touches to make us feel welcome and at home. Grateful we found it!

We were more than pleased with everything. The cottage, the communication with the owner and location. The owners go way beyond and beyond any other rental that we have had in the past to make you feel welcome and appreciated. We hope to be back this October if things work out.

Amazing location & a beautiful little home!
We loved the view! There’s a little general store & eatery in walking distance that is so cute & has a great selection. My family of 5 (3 kids 4 & under) my two sisters & niece (6months) stayed the weekend & were all more than pleased. We brought bikes for the boys they road around by the water. Day tripped to grandview & turkey spur overlooks, highly recommend those as well! We will definitely be back!

Beautiful Cottage, Gorgeous Views
This is a beautiful cottage, newly renovated, more spacious than it appears in the pictures. VERY clean and comfortable. Gorgeous views of New River. Loved the wrap-around porch and outdoor areas. The host replied to my questions within a minute each time. You can really tell the host cares about the guests, there are little extra touches found all throughout the cottage, including a jar of delicious freshly baked homemade cookies. Centrally located to visit the National Park and surrounding state parks, and there is a general store and eatery just down the street. Highly recommend this cottage and would absolutely stay here again.

Great views in a small town
This was a great comfy place with a great view. My family of 5 stayed for a couple nights and it was great! The hometown local store is just a minute walk away. There is a nice big porch to relax on and the place is very clean. I only gave a 4/5 star for cleanly because although it was extremely clean it did have some leftover dog hair in spots. Most people don’t care but one of my kids are allergic. I want to repeat though that other than that it was sooo clean. I would stay here again if I was in the area.

Nice cottage
The cottage was great. Location on the river was awesome but some of the surrounding area not so much. Went to Lewisburg, White Sulphur Spring and Hinton. Saw Barnwood Builders location and their shop in town. Just like being on HGTV. Saw a Confederate Cemetery which was really interesting. Went to Sandstone Falls which is nice Over all the C and J Cottage is clean. Everything looks new. Nice deck, fire ring and outdoor chairs. Beds were great. Hostess were very friendly and nice people
