"A true paradise. Tucked away in a peaceful rural setting about 1.5 hours from London, this property felt like stepping into another world—quiet, lush, and full of life. The greenery is absolutely breathtaking, and the surrounding forest teems with wildlife. Every second we spent here was pure joy. "We had absolutely no heating. I tried several times to contact the owner by email, messenger and by phoning her. No reply. I had been in contact with her regarding check in via email and messenger, I even sent a photo of the temperature in the house. 10 degrees. "Communication from the owners was poor right up until the day of check in. I made contact a few days before we were due to stay, to understand the process of check in. After reading my messages, they totally ignored them and we had to call the night before to make sure that our booking was actually in place. "I am not sure where to begin, but our stay at the Victorian Lodge in Windsor was absolutely amazing. Hamish was a wonderful host, and we could've stayed forever. There is something special about being in the English countryside, and our stay at the Lodge almost felt like we were inside of a storybook. If you want to be close to London/Windsor, but away from the crowds and the noise, you will not regret staying here. We had no issues getting food delivered, or getting rides to/from the lodge....

"Family and friend gathering. 9 adults over 50 years old. We enjoyed being on the Themes and spent our time outside. The house is not meant for that many adults even though it has 5 bedrooms. Many of the beds were too short and one room is clearly a children’s room. The place needs some TLC on furniture, rugs, beds (sag in middle) and outdoor cleanliness…lots of spider webs. "This is the place to go if you're looking for a peaceful stay in nature. The cottage is close to hiking trails and all you hear are birds singing.We arrived to a basket of generous snacks, and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need for a family get together.Tim and his family were super helpful and made us feel welcome and at home.A weekend was simply not enough! We wanted to stay longer.. Highly recommended!"
