"There are improvements being carried out, which will make a difference in the future. We were unable to get the advertised wifi at all, despite the router being reset many times. This was annoying. "Great little hotel with a pool just outside downtown Sandakan. The hotel restaurant was a pleasant surprise, as they had good Malay food and the staff were amazing! Unfortunately they do not open in a timely manner for breakfast. Otherwise a great stay. If you're into history there are some cool photos in the lobby worth checking out. Apparently the property was a former residence of the governor of North British Borneo, and it is nice to see what it and the town used to look like."

"Rooms are basic but the location to orangutan rehab center, etc and wilderness surrounds is all worth it. Unique jungle experience. Staff and owners were so very helpful and considerate. Excellent cook here! We had a medical episode and the owners and staff couldn’t do enough to assist us! Thank you to Jessica and her staff."

"I loved this unique hotel, it was a tick off the bucket to stay in the rainforest! The staff are so friendly and the food is excellent and great value for money. It is very easy to get to the animal centres and I was still able to access the internet so could order grab taxis. I’d definitely recommend bringing bug spray! 100% would recommend, where else can you stay in the rainforest?!"

"The team at the Losge were so helpful. We were a day late due to a missed connection and we wanted to head into the jungle and they arranged everything for us and even took a day off of our booking to facilitate a stay with their sister lodge at the Kinabantagan River. As you can see the breakfast was fabulous. "
